Prayer is GOD's rescue line. A believer may suffer if he or she refuse to call on GOD in prayer. Though, it is GOD's duty to help a believer enjoy victory in all battles of life, but it is also the believer's duty to call for GOD's help(Like Jehoshaphat~2Chronicles20:4-6), because GOD does not step into a situation, until HE is invited to step in. One of the ways we can invite HIM to step in is prayer. For example; Israelites were in bondage in Egypt for four hundred years, GOD saw them everyday of those years, but HE did not step in, until they called HIM for help(Exodus2:23, Exodus3:7). They were HIS people, HE described them as HIS first-born(Exodus4:22b), yet HE watched them suffer in bondage, until they fulfilled the covenant requirement, by calling HIM for help. When HE stepped in, HE wiped off Egypt. It is not how long you have been a christian or your position in church that guarantees HIS victorious intervention. Until you call for HIS help, HE would not step in, but when HE step in, HE can wipe a whole nation for you. Note; IF YOU DO NOT CALL FOR HIS VICTORIOUS INTERVENTION, IT SIMPLY MEANS YOU CAN FIGHT YOUR BATTLES YOURSELF, WITHOUT HIM. Prayer is not God's rescue line in the sense you're trying to portray it... PRAYER is majorly for fellowship with the Father, a rub off with the Godhead. We talk to Him as we'd to a Father. He already knows our needs and worries, so when we pray, worship, praise etc, He talks back to us, guides and direct us. Rescue line? Rescue from what? The devil? He's defeated the devil by Jesus. We are not trying to defeat the devil, the challenges we face in life are as a result of the devil's tantrums to take our gaze off the Word. It's the fight of faith. And God's given us all we need to win this fight of faith... His Word. You know there was a time God asked someone not to pray to Him at that particular moment? Why? Because there are things God's expected us to chew, and not call the 'rescue line' everything. You see, the resuce line is for babies... When you step up, you see you'd not even have to pray to be 'rescued' from 'your enemies' Well, what about Ephesians 6:12 or 2 Corinthians 10:3-5? I'd explain them if you need me to.
