Events are beginning to debunk the claims of President Buhari and his party, regarding the current slow-pace of his administration in dishing out their duties. One of such events, is the case of 13 Nigerians from the Niger Delta region, undergoing commercial point training at the Lufthansa Flight Training School in Frankfurt, who have been sent away for non-payment of fees.
It must be stressed that Buhari is yet to appoint a Special Adviser on Niger Delta, who doubles as the chairman of the PAP and the chief executive of the agency, a situation affecting beneficiaries of the scheme
Critical observers have said that the sacking of the trainee pilots is a dangerous development, because the ex-militants were looking forward to having a career after dropping their arms.
According to the Vanguard, the Nigerian pilots who would have graduated from the prestigious aviation training institution, were asked to go last Friday due to their inability to pay for accommodation and training logistics.
More to that, six of the pilots who had already completed their training had their licenses withheld by the school.
It was gathered that two of the students sent home for non-payment, had only one test to complete their Programme for Commercial Pilot Licence, one was in his final stage of the CPL test while four had just started their type rating test and would have completed next month.
A source at the PAP confirmed yesterday that there was money in the account of the agency with the Central Bank of Nigeria but that there was no signatory to authorize the payment to the beneficiaries.
Reports have it that former SA on Niger Delta, Kingsley Kuku had in May written Buhari to either allow him to pay the May financial obligations or appoint a new signatory for the account.
But Buhari looked the other way, claiming he has not found any corrupt-free Nigerian to fill the position.
It must be noted that the ex-militants, spread around learning institutions in Nigeria and around the world, collect a monthly salary of N65,000.
There are fears that except an urgent action is taken, the plight of the ex-militants may not be quickly resolved as Buhari yesterday in his meeting with US President Barack Obama, confirmed that he would appoint his Ministers in September.

One of the dummy projects of the last government.
Of all the problems afflicting the country and the Niger delta , this must be the least of them all.
Even when pilots with 10 years experience cannot even find a plane to fly.

N65,000 Naira monthly for lazy troublemakers while some old teachers struggle with N30,000 salary monthly? This must stop immediately angry, Jonathan really spoiled these boys silly.

Having said that, these ones that have shown commitment to study, distinct from those lazy ones that do nothing but waste their allowance on alcohol and women, should be allowed to complete their program and contingency plans should be made to that effect because at the end of the day, they are Nigerian students on government scholarship.
