Lord help me see,
Help me see how that You mean well for me;
Help me see how that this phase is necessary for where You're taking me;
Help me see how this pain would lead to gain for me;

Lord help me understand that I need to trust,
Even when the path I tread seems lost;
While in the cold I face the frost,
Help me to know I'm surrounded by Your host,

Lord in the midst of fear,
Help me to sense Your care;
And when I begin to slide,
Be there as my Guide

Though I wish I could skip this phase,
To the part where men sing my praise;
But how can I handle the fame,
If for Your sake I've bore no shame?

Lord Your strength is what I seek,
To hold me up when I'm weak;
Your grace is all I long for,
When in life it seems I'm done for

Happy is the man who trusts in the Lord;
For though his beginning be small, yet great shall be his end
I look to the Lord to guide me on this journey,
He has promised me an end sweeter than honey,

So I wait patiently for that glorious day,
When to the Father at last I shall say;
The journey was rough and full of thorns in their piles,
But every step of it was worth the while

And my Lord to me that day shall say;
Welcome to your home and stay;
Where the streets are laid with gold,
In the midst of angels and the saints of old
