Why Every Child From The South Should Be Sad by bnovative(m): 6:21pm On Jul 23, 2015 |
I consider myself a nationalist, but I am
beginning to have doubts about the
Nigerian federation.
The news is that Nigeria has accepted to
collect a $2.1 billion loan to rebuild the
areas destroyed by boko haram.
Note that this is a loan and not a gift.
Which means that Nigeria will pay back.
And when you talk of Nigeria paying back,
you are talking about the south- South .
So put succinctly, one section of the
country FOR NO REASON AT ALL wakes up
and starts destroying their home.
And another section of the country is
called upon to rebuild and compensate
them for destroying their home!
I am really beginning to suspect this
union called Nigeria. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Op you are making a lot of sense. What pains me more is that the destruction in the north is yet ongoing and they are talking about rebuilding. They rebuild with southern money to give the destroyers more opportunity to destroy and the cycle continues. It's time we should seriously begin to question what else the north contributes to this country apart from destruction and bloodshed and ever trying to make governance their birth right while they loot the treasury and build their northern empires with the wealth of the south. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Juvenile prattling. Why don't you all stay at home and develop your regions? Or is it then you know Nigeria is for all.? What has been achieved after more than a decade of extra derivation funds going to oil producing States? When other states are sharing vat income that is generated mainly in lagos do you hear lagos complain? I hope you know the oil will not last another 50yrs then what nonsense will you be talking about? Rubbish! 2 Likes 1 Share |

bnovative:I thought you people are OK with "ONE NIGERIA"? You people claim Igbos are the problem of this country why complain now? It pains me to know that, In this computer age a lot of people are still blind and gullible to the extent that, they can't even notice anything around them unless disaster came knocking only then will they sit up. 2 Likes |

Niger Delta president, Niger Delta oil minister and what has been the result? The biggest robbery in Nigerian history. Massive inflows of revenue when oil was selling at record prices and yet what did the pair achieve? Did you even expect he would achieve anything useful, after his pathetic record in Bayelsa? Your own south south leaders rob you, kidnap you, steal our resources for their private benefit and you instead of fixing the mess that is your house, are looking into your neighbours yard and complaining! So very effin clever. 2 Likes |

Nigerian biafran war was fought on the biafrans soil yet nobody thought of rebuilding the damages they caused. But without wasting of time, they are planning on rebuilding the north for what boko haram has caused. I don't blame them rather, I blame some of our gullible brothers that still clinging on "one Nigeria". One Nigeria is for the blind. 3 Likes |

This kind of posts makes one to think twice visiting nairaland. Presently, the north feeds the entire nation with their massive agric production, if the so called Biafrans decides to hold on to their "oyell" (i.e if SS pple agree to second colonialism). For another 10 years, the north will make100% of what is presently obtained from federal allocation with supply of crops & animal produce. Expect to pay through your nose to feed yourself & family 1 Like |

Change2015: Hard concrete facts, one day we will hear stories of how Jonathan would have turn S/S to utopia but the people of north or south west were busy dropping bomb on SS and so Jonathan was unable to actualize this dream. Charity they say begins at home, were are all the derivations budgeted for the south south development, it is a pity that the problems are woes of most states in Nigeria since 1999 is not just lack of visionary and selfless leadership, but lack of visionary followers who refused to see beyond the surface. 2 Likes |

At least we know Buhari will use it for what he took it for, what about $20B that is in private accounts? Didn't finance minister Ngozi Iweala steal the same amount in her last week in office just for the fun of it? Let's just pray that Buhari will bring all the money stolen and stashed overseas back to the country. bnovative: |

bnovative: Tell them bros,... and they shouldn't easily forget the proven chunk of hard currency loot the north under the then civilian and military heads of state carted away with. All those years the north ruled with iron fist what did their northern leaders achieve for them save that they continued to milk the south dry stuffing their pockets with loot. They left power with the north yet standing as the most poverty stricken region in the country. Yet these misguided nairalanders have the impetus to question a one mans impact to the niger delta compared to the zero impact of a collection of failed northern leaders all the years the north held to power. |

ByfireByfire: Can your prejudices please. I'm not interested. When did Nigeria start having trillion naira budgets? What was our national income under Abacha? Go and find out. Oil was selling in the low $30 and under IBB what was the size of our national budgets? No government has ever had the inflows that Jonathan met and if he was useless enough to leave the country as he met it (After looting to his content) why will we not point it out, considering how rabidly he was supported in that region? You happily applaud the man that could not even execute the East-West Road, 2nd Niger bridge, maintain any of the major interstate expresses in the East, and then have the gall to be mouthing off about northern what? Celebrate mediocrity by yourself please, it's a new day, and Buhari is in charge. #change |

7lives: I totally understand you. Our people like pointing fingers when their own roofs are on fire. How come delta state has accumulated over 600bn in debt? Even more than lagos by 50%? Where is the evidence of what has been done with all that money in addition to derivation funds and the regular federal inflows and local taxes? Are the people even asking? Has Bayelsa state with its relatively small population seen any significant change apart from a handful of militant leaders transforming into billionaires? Is it the north that has been ruling them for the last 16 years? If Jonathans administration was so good why is it that everyone is presenting their 'problems' to him now when just three months ago they were all shouting '4 more years'? Abeg... #change |

Change2015: What is lacking in these people is the capability to collectively stand up and challenge their leaders, these people were mocking the people of SW for being the slaves of Tinubu, at least Tinubu knows where he is going and the evidence are there for sane people to see. How difficult is it for Goodluck to provide the much needed leadership and direction for his people? and few ones who have foresight among them are never allowed to even do as much as sneeze. Even among herds of animals, it is only the one in the front that others will follow ' cause it is assumed that the one in front knows the road to where they can graze and drink. 1 Like |
