Kerry should have pushed him down to his deputy, then to his assistant deputy, then to his office clerk who could really understand the words the man was saying!

[b]All these APC supporters self. Shallow thinking and reasoning. This is how you secure deals when you jet out. Not promissory notes, selfies and vague promises!!!

The federal government has attracted over $25 billion in investment, including the $20 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Power China and the Ministry of Power to generate for Nigeria 20,000 megawatts of electricity, following President Goodluck Jonathan’s trade mission to China last week.

http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/fg-secures-25bn-investment-deals-during-chinese-visit/153386/

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, have presided over the signing of accords between their governments to facilitate $1.1bn in low-interest loans for much-needed infrastructure in Nigeria. The ceremony took place on Wednesday in Beijing at the start of Jonathan's four-day visit.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2013/07/2013710171651692540.html

Now compare that to the disgrace Buhari subjected Nigeria to...

After a four-day official visit in the United States of America, President Muhammadu Buhari will be returning to Nigeria today with no pledge of concrete military assistance against Boko Haram terrorists from his hosts.

http://dailytimes.com.ng/us-refuses-sell-weapons-nigeria/

The difference is clear when a man with vision rolls out and when an illiterate stumbles out!!! Jonathan travelled with his entourage and got the job done!!! Buhari travelled with his entourage and suddenly Kim Kardashian is jealous cheesy cheesy and Buhari returned without any affirmative deal neither hope we can cling on to!!!

And please stop the issue of saying Nigeria's image was battered during Jonathan's regime. Nigeria has no image outside apart from being mocked as the "Giant of Africa"... Talk like say e get one Image una been keep for outside undecided undecided. Gullible followers. It was shameful seeing our presidential entourage snapping photos and shining their teeth gleefully like say Obama dey share jollof rice.

Hahaha Abeg o....@gay movement! On a serious note, Buhari travelled to the USA without a Finance Minister (to help talk to investors), without a foreign affairs minister (to help with strengthening diplomatic ties), without the Petroleum minister (to help bring investors into the sector), without Businessmen (that will also assist in bringing some partners here). He went there on his own with some clueless politicians. Yet he expected Obama to take him serious.
He's Bubu the new magician in town. grin

This is funny! You made a statement that Buhari's visit to USA heped strengthened Nigeria-USA relations but I asked you whether any bilateral agreement was signed you can't respond. Do you think relationship strengthening is by mere rhetoric?

You further said buhari succeeded in bringing investors, but I asked you Which MoU did he secure with businesses or which Business/investor has agreed to come but again you can't respond. Man, you shouldn't dabble into what is bigger than you.

It seems the logic needs to be spoon-fed to you since you're having difficulties grasping this simple concept.

First of all, to determine success, you must measure it along with purpose.

What was the schedule for the trip? What was planned to be achieved?

Day 2 - One of the most anticipated meetings by Nigerians is to be held with the US Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The officials are to discuss the issue of corruption, in particular – assets looted by the immediate past politicians.

Further on, Buhari and CBN governor and the director of the Nigerian Stock exchange will meet the US secretary of treasury, Jack Lew.

"The busy day is to end with a dinner with the US officials where the country representatives are expected to discuss steps of improving business relationships and security cooperation."
http://www.naij.com/492705-detailed-program-of-buharis-us-trip.html

This phase of the process is focused on re-establishing business ties with the U.S which was alienated under the past adminisitration.

You CANNOT expect trade agreements or MOU's to be signed the same day country representatives are expected to discuss steps of improving business relationships. That was the intended purpose, the take-away is what will be integrated in policy formulation.

Capire? Comprendre? Understand?

Buhari should as a matter of fact be very careful in dealing with the United States. They look out for their own interests and we have no common ground more especially as the deal with Iran has been struck!!! A sensible president would rather align with the Chinese, Russians, and other countries that will be more beneficial to Nigeria.

Typical wailer, are you all accursed with the inability to apply context within reason?

What was the diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and China?

Compare that to the severely battered relationship that Nigeria had with the U.S courtesy of the DAFT one, and I hope you won't be too embarrassed to realize the simple logic that has been evading you; you have to mend fences before arranging or securing trade agreements.

What battered relationship if i may ask? A relationship where Boko Haram kept ravaging and they turned down the request to purchase arms? What sort of relationship was that? The one where we had to purchase used cars from America rather than the companies setting up base here in Nigeria? Are your eyes not open to see the automobile companies that have set up their bases here due to the policies which was frustrating to America?

Kindly change the heading of 1. above to reflect the content of the body. "He Honoured an invitation"....people do that everyday. I hope you catch my drift.
When you talk about his acclaimed goodness et al, I would like us to do so based on the realities on ground.

This "acclaim" you talk about, is it the one he rightfully earned or the one which the media and some propagandic elements wore on him as a vestment?

Please put me in the know here....
As a former administrator of this country, what was Buhari's legacy? What policy, what enduring example did he leave behind?
Good intentions are not enough.
Actions are!....

When someone comes to visit me, and I escort them to the bus stop, it is my way of saying, "I had a nice time with you. Let's do this again"....but if I don't walk you or leave you to attend to someone else, it is an indication that I am irritated at your stay, or that, you are not really important to me, if you are a first time visitor, the implication is that I have sized you up and you are not worth my time.

Look, I will be candid with you.
I was pained on behalf of PMB.
A hallowed guest, by reason of being the president of the most populous black nation was not so much as given a walk by his host, he neither stayed around to bid him good bye.

That in my opinion is a clear indication that America is not serious about us.
They do not mean well for us.
So when you open a thread about gains of his tour, I am somewhat pissed and at the same time bemused.

Like I said earlier, Oga Fulani...I'd rather not hatch my eggs prematurely.
Again, I reiterate that you take down 2 & 3 as gains cum achievements until we begin to see their workability.
Thank you.
Despite that you talk too much, you make very little sense. Hope you know that?
Are you saying neither Buhari nor Obama knew about the fact that Obama was scheduled for Kenya?
Stop hating for the sake of hating.

Only a naive individual would not acknowledge the imbalanced relationship between the U.S and Nigeria, you think PMB did not have his reservations?

The only explanation for your persistent inability to comprehend basic logic is lack of exposure. There is a concept known as strategic alliances where both allies seek to make strategic benefits mutually, not because of shared affection but shared interests. Now going by your assertion relations among countries with an imbalance of power is a threat to the sovereignty of the weaker nation and as such should be avoided. What about the opportunity cost? Going into a strategic alliance allows both parties to benefit from each others strengths/resources while protecting their vulnerabilities.

This was exactly what PMB was going for, which was why he did not hesitate to immediately call them out for their refusal to sell arms, which I must emphasize, was a legislative/constitutional matter.
