PMB and OBJ share some certain history as both played major roles in the misappropriation of the $2.8billion dollars back then when PMB served as NNPC chair. During Shagari's administration, Shagari let PMB off the hook by setting up a sham probe committee that not only discarded facts but claimed there was no missing monies amid the glaring loophole in the account. This was basically the reason why PMB payed Shagari back the favour by only placing him under house arrest rather than locking him up in prison like he did to Shehu's other principal officers back then.
