The All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to the press conference organised by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Sunday in Abuja, where it said the ruling party is losing direction and has become a “bad change”.

PDP’s spokesman, Olisa Metuh, had addressed journalist on Sunday and said President Muhammadu Buhari disgraced Nigeria during his visit to the United States last week.

But in response, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos, said the opposition party is confused and constituting nuisance.

“Today’s statement is the most tortuous yet by the PDP and, honestly, sounds more like a compendium of beer parlour gossips and side talks than a serious criticism of a sitting government,” the APC said in the statement.

“To be in opposition does not mean you have to constitute yourself to a nuisance by rushing to the press with all sorts of hot air statements. It is the quality, rather than the frequency, of your interventions that makes you relevant as an opposition in a democracy,” the party further said.

My advice to APC is to ignore all d non intellectual, ill timed, and highly sentimental opposition tabled by d pdp.. " A hunter dat aims to kill an elephant, doesn't wait to shot at an antelope"....there are more pertinent issues to be addressed...

And APC must trade words or fashion out a comeback? They ought to learn that in the position they occupy as ruling party they have to take the high road sometimes. If Lie Mohammed comes out to attack the quality of PDP's press releases I'd say he has a long way to go because criticisms must come and trying to respond to all only places the APC on the defensive. That automatically translates to having something to hide or lending credence to what any person says. They must learn to accept criticisms, insults and all what not because in our Nigerian polity, that's the package deal. Furthermore, if they feel any of what the opposition or critics have said are untrue or unfounded, then they ought to address issues raised and disprove them rather than resort to insults that still beg the question.
