The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria had vowed not to release the May/June 2015 result of students who wrote the examination from states owing it. At a press briefing in Lagos on Monday, Head of WAEC National Office in Nigeria, Charles Eguridu said the amount being owed "is well over N4billion". According to Eguridu, a total of 19 out of 36 states of Federation are owing and it is very unlikely that the Council will release the results of the affected states. "We have written to the affected States Government without any response of debtor States is threatening the smooth operations of the Council. That is their own cup of akamu!! When are states held accountable for non payment of individual schools? WAEC should not try that oooo! If 100 schools in Lagos State are owing and the rest have paid, are they saying they will withold the result of the State cos of the 100? Don't release result of schools owing you a kobo, anything more than this is asking for a fight |

The innocent students will be the once to suffer. Most state governors are so reckless with their finances. They just can't manage the states prudently. |
