The parliament of Tunisia approved
legislation allowing the death penalty for
those convicted of terrorism offences,
Death penalty is caused by the fact that
dozens of foreign visitors were killed by
terrorists in the past few months . For
example, in June ISIS killed 38 tourists in
Tunisia while in March gunmen killed 21
foreigners in the country.
On Saturday the bill was approved by a
margin of 174-0 with 10 abstentions after
three days of debate.
The source notes that Human Rights Watch
had criticised the bill.
The organization said: “It would open the way
to prosecuting political dissent as terrorism,
give judges overly broad powers and curtail
lawyers’ ability to provide an effective defence”.
The Guardian explained that the new law
against terrorism and money laundering
permits the death penalty for terrorism-related
offences such as killings of foreign visitors or
of someone enjoying international protection.

Some times i wish Nigerian version of Islam would be as liberal and understanding as their peers elsewhere. We had bomb blast in Cameroun,Chad and Niger, the muslims in those countries rised to the occassion and demanded a ban on face veil in other to curtail the act of hiding bombs with veils by muslim women but this can never happen in Nigeria, where religion has been politicised and our muslims seems to be more islamic than the Arabs. This is why Nigeria is a fertile ground for Islamic extremism. I stand with Tunisia on death sentence for Terrorists and i hope our 'partisan' politicians will adapt same.
