Abuja - Three of Nigeria's four refineries have resumed production and are performing at between 60 and 80 percent of their installed capacities, state-run oil firm NNPC said (AFP Photo/Pius Utomi Ekpei) Wednesday.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said in a statement that the refineries largely moribund for several years have commenced preliminary production of petroleum products after test runs in the southern oil cities of Port Harcourt and Warri.

While the two joint refineries in Port Harcourt are ramping up operation to about 60 percent of their 210,000 barrels per day (bpd) capacity, their Warri counterpart is projected to hit 80 percent of its installed 125,000 bpd capacity, the statement said.

pls can somebody explain what is or has been happening in Nigeria?
these refineries were there for the past years but nothing was coming out from them. suddenly, two months of PMB in office they began to work.

may questions are:
1. so these refineries were OK since, yet not producing?
2. what or who stops them from production?
3. why are they refining now?

the truth of the matter is that PMB has not yet make any move in resuscitating these refineries

4. why are we these wicked

Of course, it is only in Nigeria you can resuscitate a refinery in two months.
