For those who did fixed deposit investment in First Bank, please share your experience:
Where you ever deceived or cheated by the banks?

And was what to expect properly explained and calculated before you fix your huge money.

I have being employed for 5 years and paid my salary non-stop.

I have got 7 million Naira which i am thinking to invest - money from being employed and left over of scholarship i got for Masters of two years abroad. Thinking about getting experienced advise about the next easy step to do with it now.

I will appreciate your advise.

You can as well keep in mind that:

"I am not thinking about starting a business and all its wahala for now - I believe it is not a crime or stupidity if I don't start a business because i have a capital as most people always depict. I believe i don't have to be stinking rich"

Please feel free to share your opinion. Thanks.

Fixed deposit investment in general is a straight investment, no much hassle, upon investment the would probably give you a letter or mail stating the amount you invested, rate and tenure(for how long), some take a step forward to state how much you would get upon maturity and if any the tax implications.

I have never heard of someone bring short changed in fixed deposit, because all the need to do is key in the rate and tenure into a computer and the figures will be generated, so I think you have nothing to worry about.

I know for a fact that Unity Bank plc can give you 10% interest in your N7m investment for fixed time deposit. That's 700,000 interest per annum. Deducting withholding tax of 10% (70,000) gives you 630,000 p.a. This translates to 52,500 per month. I know this for a fact. You can try it
