That time has come again. The time when the Windows OS gets its update to a new iteration. Windows 8 was considered to have generally been a flop, with the forced metro screen and its full screen apps and congenital lack of a start menu. It just wasn’t the same Windows that many of us had been using for years. It went too hard for a new touch oriented approach that never really got off the ground.
That’s why to many, the arrival of Windows 10 is only reason to rejoice. It launched at the end of July, and finally brought an end to the necessity of using 8 when trying to be up-to-date. Whatever happened to Windows 9, no one knows as nothing completely official has been stated, but some theories lean towards wanting to distance from 8, conflicts with legacy code, as well as the number 9 being found unlucky in Japan.
As Windows 10 unveils, we check out some really cool features that we just can’t wait to see.
Start Menu’s Back!
Go ahead and press the start button on a laptop with Windows 8 installed and watch as the Metro screen pops up to greet you. Even as someone well versed in computers, I found Windows 8 irritatingly hard to get used to mainly because of the exclusion of the start menu. What was going on at Redmond when they made that decision, I do not know. Anyway, it’s back now, and with a compromise – the option to add live tiles to the start menu to obtain a form of hybrid Metro-Start creature.
Free Upgrade!
Microsoft has officially stated that users on anything newer than Windows 7 on an official license will basically be allowed to update to Windows 10 free of charge for the first year after its release. It seems that the company wants to leave the horrible past that is Windows 8 in the, well, past. FOR MORE CLICK ON https://klatschkrew./2015/08/02/windows-10-what-you-should-expect/
