The Newsghost was originally founded in late 2014 under the name 'The Newsidea Ghost' as a trade property of the parent enterprise Newsidea Enterprises and a free resource for news development and news networking. After a 3-month test run of 'The Newsidea Ghost', it shutdown and went into a redevelopment that had it renamed and remodelled to 'The Newsghost'.

Today, The Newsghost is an internet news network for news industry professionals and news followers which is yet to release publicly. On release, The Newsghost is to be available on paid subscription to news industry professionals who are interested in independently publishing news and earning income on affiliate signups and advert sales, and free to news followers who have interest in reading highly original news online.
