Breaking Times reported that the former Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babatunde Raji Fashola spent a whooping sum of N78.3million of Lagos tax-payers money on his personal website. The report caused a stir on twitter making everyone give their opinion about the incidence.
Lagosians expressed disgust and disappointment that the former governor could have approved such amount of money just for a website
The consensus is that the cost was over-inflated.
A WordPress website, like http://tundefashola.com/http://tundefashola.com/ should not cost more than N3million, according to expert opinions.

The story was broken by BudgIT, quoting a budget report on the website of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency.

The contract was awarded in 2014 to “Info Access Plus Limited”. A Google search by TheNEWS did not turn anything out about the company.

People need to understand that the website was maintained for 8 good years and it's still being maintained.

That site is robust.

You need to consider, cost of salary for the Web Developer who maintains the site, u need to consider a secured hosting package.
