Whatever any one says or thinks about their effort, this is a positive effort as far as am concerned. they at least had the guts to sacrifices their time, finances and materials to build this knowing fully well that there is a high probability it may not function properly.

For those being negative, do you know how many times great inventions failed their during testing stages? Did the inventors give up? They forged ahead despite starting things that the masses considered foolish at that time. When Leonardo Da Vinci first design and constructed the flying machine he was ridiculed. But he persevered and because he did not bow to comments form nay Sayers, and his design contributed in some ways to the present day aircraft.

You learn from your mistakes and more often than not it takes an outsiders that are objective to point out flaws in your own work, which you may fail to notice.

Rather than discourage them (as if you ever can) with negativity, point out ways they could do better, and who knows you just be instrumental in birth of a new modification to air helicopter.

Just imagine they had no idea about aerodynamic, wind propulsion to wing span ratio, thrust to weight ratio and other such theoretical model required before an actual model is built. None the less they had the GUTS to forge ahead with their idea and made it a reality. With the proper guidance and mentor-ship they will go far.
