Today marks a new step in Chinese giant OEM Xiaomi’s existence in India. The smartphone marker is set to show-off the very first Made In India Xiaomi device. The said device is said to be totally assembled in India, under the “Make In India, Made In Andhra Pradesh” program.

The launch event commemorates Xiaomi’s successful existence in the Asian sub-continent and is a way the Tech giant is saying thank you to it’s Indian customer base which has been so far very patronizing of their devices. Xiaomi recently took to India and has since reaped from the sub-continents Tech savvy, smartphone loving folks.

Smartphone and wearable tech company Xiaomi is currently listed as the third largest smartphone-maker in the world, which is a huge feat, considering it’s less than 10 years as device maker. Xiaomi is notable for producing high quality Android smartphone devices at dirt cheap prices compared to the top-two competitors Apple and Samsung. The brand is currently valued at almost $50 billion, making it the world’s most valuable technology start-up.

The device which would be getting unveiled today is yet unknown, but there’s talks of it being upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime. The unveil will see Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu in attendance. CEO of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain, will deliver the welcome address, while Hugo Barra, VP Global Xiaomi will brief the audience on the Journey so far of Xiaomi’s charmed entrance into India.
