MOST OF THEM ARE ACTUALLY SMART
: To be candid, most 3rd class graduates are actually smarter than some second class upper or first class graduates. Other circumstances and constraints of life like sickness, victimization, disillusion, influence of bad friends, playfulness and related issues might have affected their academic outcomes which invariably led to a somewhat questionable final grade after graduation.

Sourcing instances really closely, my uncle actually graduated with a 3rd class grade due to financial constraints when he was in school as he had to hustle his way out of the ever demanding education, he now works with one of the top telecom companies in Nigeria.

THEY HAVE MORE STIMULATION TO PROVE THEMSELVES
: Having been under-rated and victimised due to a poor grade in school, they know people will most probably look down on them and in response to that, they will try to shift people’s opinion of them away from their paper certificate in order to prove how worthy they are despite a bad grade in school.

They tend to work closely to employer’s expectation just to make them know that they are not walk-overs compared to other graduates with better grades. This is a key driving force for successful career-minded 2.2 and 3rd class graduates in the employment market.

MOST OF THEM HAVE PERSONAL SKILLS
: Students who have grades that are not meant to be proud of, often have enviable personal or learned skills which might have been one of those things that made them not graduate with a good grade.

Some probably needed to augment their grades with other requisite skills, aptitude and certifications in order to aid their chance of getting employed.

With this at hand, some of them are obviously better than the so-called graduates with good grades who crammed their way out of the tertiary institution just to graduate and discover they really have but not much to offer.

MOST OF THEM MUST HAVE LEARNED FROM PAST MISTAKES
: Especially those who didn’t get good grades due to reasons that might have been avoided but afforded due to probably negligence or unawareness. They tend to be strongly motivated and determined to make it and correct their past errors. Such man with such stimulation and mentality will excel beyond expectation if a task is to be freed into his care.

THEY ARE MORE HUMBLE
: A graduate of lower grades would be clouded with humility when reminded of his grade. They don’t boast of their achievements or success. Regardless of their achievements, they believe they got the job through God’s grace and not by their power. Compared to most first class graduates who may end up behaving like Chatur(Silencer) in three idiots.

DISCLAIMER: This post is not in any way trying to convince, stimulate or boost your ego to graduate with a low grade. It’s only meant to clear the air and stop the discrimination against low grade graduates as we all can most times perform equally if tasks are to be distributed.
