The alleged CNN investigate piece (www.nairaland.com/2519816/cnn-investigates-why-buhari-dumped), though an interesting read should not be regarded as true.

Unknown to many, the CNN iReport is a platform where CNN allow its several readers upload stories, pictures or videos as first hand witnesses of events since the news agency can't be in all places at all times.

CNN iReport is a little bit different from the rest of CNN.com, because everything here starts with a story from members of our community. We want to invite you to share the stories you care about with CNN, and the rest of the world.

ireport.cnn.com/welcome-to-ireport.jspa

Since the topic reads "CNN Investigates Why Buhari "Dumped" $182 Halliburton Bribe Scandal", it would be right to say iReport, though CNN owned, is NOT the same as CNN's investigative reportage.

Though the piece was written somewhere in July by an anonymous user, the Editor's Note before the article clearly reads;

CNN PRODUCER NOTE CNN iReport is the network’s user-generated news community. The stories here come from our audience and are not edited, fact-checked or screened before they post. If you think this iReport violates our community guidelines, please tell us by clicking on the "This is Inappropriate" button below. You can learn more
about how iReport works on our About page.

I've been an ardent reader of the iReport since 2010, largely due to the fact that audience reporters break some stories before being taken up by the news network.

Perhaps anyone saw this:
"About this iReport: NOT verified by CNN"

Question now is: "If it's not verified by CNN, how come it's CNN's investigative?"

Sorry, I don't do parties. A lot of Nigerians, myself inclusive, are interested in the Harliburton scandal and it would be terrible if the issue is swept under the carpet. And most importantly, peddling false news under the covering of "CNN investigative" is not just it.
