Stop this misinformation, it annoys me to the bone. The Ife do not practise a ritual of 7 heads that is apparently a Edo tradition.

There is no Abobaku , there was a Sarun tradition which has long been abandoned since the days of Olubuse I, so please stop it. I'd rather you didn't disrespect my family and heritage
OK sir tell us what happens during ORO

Sorry to ask this, why did the Ooni have to die in London? Does it mean there's no good hospital in Osun State with an IGR of over 1billion that could have treated him?
In all these years Aregbesolaand his fellow deceivers were shouting change, so hospital good enough was built? Shame.

I'm sure the REAL Abobaku will remain at large indefinitely while an INNOCENT man will be arranged.

What a nonsense culture at this 21st century.

Many thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ, for taking us out of this darkness....and shame to the Devil and gods.

Guys, hit 'Like button' for the Redeemer of our Souls. And RIP the dead.

There's No Abobaku involved in the entire rites.
It was a fake news meant for silly and gullible folks like you

The oro is announced well before hand to ensure nobody goes out, usually men are allowed out, but because mare mortals are not allowed to see the kings body(taboo) ; the oro has been declared as a full curfew for everyone.

When the cult are coming they would have the special family who undertake the oro procession far advanced with canes laced with jazz, if you are wipped you will die, however they do not go looking for people to sacrifice, while they go they would be shouting incantations loudly to announce their presence, the body of the king would be brought through the small wooden back door which has been there for centuries and it would remain open until a new king enters the palace through it and then shut until the king dies.

The Oro lasts for 7 days between the prescribed hours. No one would be hunted for rituals, if at all anyone would die mysteriously at this time it would be chiefs, palace serfs who were well aware of the traditions or the kings family if they had a covenant as such, I'm not aware of that even being at play as we speak.

The king himself is the sacrifice for his successor, his heart would be used as a concoction for his successor

What if I told you I am a prince and I have here with me now , family members princes who escorted the oro when their father the Ooni died and were present during the burial rites , who can say for a fact there is nothing like abobaku. I actually asked and they waved it off as nonsense

There was a Sarun tradition which was stopped as far back as the time of Olubuse I

The Ife are very fetish and occult but one thing they don't do is human sacrifice and malicious voodoo. However of you are the fool who flouts the Oro curfew or goes to a restricted area because of some faith you have you have your destiny in your hands to do as you like.

Have they seen the Abobaku? Please don't use innocent people for atonement. The Abobaku must be found else you burry the ooni alone. Some traditional shaiits must be done away with at this jet ageundecided

The abobaku has betrayed the Yoruba people. I was shocked to the marrow to learn he has absconded. The man must be found or else others will do the same thing.

Ideally he shouldn't have, he might be the first ever to die outside the palace. The previous King died in the palace but his body was immediately taken to the morgue in UCH and then brought back 7 days after

Burial is scheduled for Friday this weekend and 'Abobaku' must go down with him according to tradition.

Noted my guy and thanks for your explanation. I'm a Yoruba too from Akure but one of my Uncle married from Ile Ife.

Personally, I'm NOT in support of ABOBAKU (Someone who dies with the late King) and pray such tradition is eradicated henceforth.

All the best....Eyin Oba adara ooooo.

Nothing like Abobaku in this modern age. It's a VERY old tradition (not of Ife) which is no longer practised. Some people are just clowning over this fake news. No abobaku is missing and no one gets buried with the king. The Aderemi princes can explain better since they witnessed their father's burial ( late Oba Adesoji Aderemi).
RIP Ooni Sijuwade. Condolences to the family and Ife people.

Trust me given my father was there during the Oro precession that brought his father's body back to Ife and was there when they buried him, I'll trust his words, there is no abobaku,

There was a tradition which was done many kings ago involving the Sarun of Ife who lives in affluence with the king and dies with him the current Sarun is Chief Adeyoye Adekola. As you can see the Sarun is of Royal stock too denoted by the Adekola name.

Just in case my father was too emotional during his father's burial and didn't see too clearly, I'm waiting on other uncles reply to put this myth to rest

It has , many traditions have apparently been abandoned in Ife , according to info I got between Olubuse I who had a lot of colonial interactions and Aderemi who was a devout Anglican many were made redundant except for the ones for which the king was obliged to do.

The ife don't beleive in human sacrifice, thou they don't play with their deities, they even worship different dieties everyday of the year bar one.
