Two graduates of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Tolu Ajewole and Babajide Owosakin are taking the battle for news discovery to Internet giants Facebook & Twitter with their innovative mobile news app, Newspepa.com.

The application enables users discover top news from their favourite site all in one place. It features news from top sources such as Punch, Vanguard, NigerianMonitor, and Daily Post. Entertainment sites such as stargist, Linda Ikeji, Bellanaija, and KokoFeed. Sport lovers also get to read from Complete sport and Goal.com.

The fresh computer engineering graduates developed the app to organise the overwhelming amount of news information in a useful way for Nigerians. Babajide shares that they achieved this by developing software algorithms to rank and recommend the most important stories to users.

Speaking on her part, Tolu shared about Newspepa's unique user interface design saying it's the first app of its kind that enables users stay updated with top stories from various sources and news categories in a continuous stream.

These inspiring ones join the growing list of Nigerians impacting their world.
