Men are taught and trained how to be intelligent and brilliant, but not wise.

In Sweden, some high schools make it mandatory for its female students to have one hour of an all-female session called The Talk once every week. These girls are not allowed to tell what they talk about in The Talk. While they are having their The Talk, the male students are forced to do the normal class stuff (maths, physics etc).

Sex Ed is taught to both males and females at the same time so it couldn't be what The Talk is all about.

I know what they talk about in The Talk.

Sweden is a feminist country that has seen the ignorance and hypocrisy of feminism but don't want to admit it. They have realised the physical differences in both genders have certain ramifications (psychological etc) that is not a human construct as they imagined. These differences drive goals and expectations of individuals based on the individual's personal convenience.

For example, in Sweden, despite the gender equality movement, 97% of patent applications are filed by men. It indicates, at a point, the ladies (despite having fancy degrees) choose to favour family and let the men do the work. The men have realised this. The system knows this. The system is weary that the men will try to fight it since it goes against the 5050 these men have been force-fed since birth. Why else should they carry a woman's burden when "whatever a man can do, a woman can also do". The system fears this will create an imbalance that's why it does 2 things:
1. It enacts misandric laws
2. It prevents the guys from getting wisdom.

That's why they force the boys to do school stuff while that session is going on.

These girls are advised in The Talk not to compete with men toe-to-toe because if they do, they MAY struggle on the long run. Their trainers teach them from personal experiences. The girls are instead taught how to own the man. How to trick males such that they (the males) submit the result of their hard work to them. How to use the law to gain the advantage. Basically, the girls are taught how to be wise.

As a detour, during my service year, we had one final meeting with our Zonal Inspector and she announced that she wanted to have a session with all female corps members to teach them how to get what they wanted from men without giving the men what the men wanted.
How many male authority figures have done that to fellow males? You can't blame the senior males. They may not know themselves (because they weren't taught). Or they may know but are too embarrassed to advice the young ones because they themselves are still in the mess.

Back to the bit.
This same format is used to suppress men in Nigeria.
At least 20% of children are not born to men that think they are the fathers. The range is 20-30% actually.

What is the public sensitisation regimen regarding paternity test? Very poor.

**Society doesn't want men to know about it because, the men will begin to request for it more often. If the test comes out negative, these men will reject the baby and baby mama. Consequently, one way or the other, the burden to sort out the mess will end up on the laps of the government. The government may have to feed them, attend to the crimes these children will commit (80% of inmates in the US were raised by their moms only) or do both.
As a result, there is a business and safety case for the government to not push for any public sensitisation.

**A doctor friend told me the cost of the test in Nigeria is about #250k. He also told me that cost is artificial. The test kit can be gotten for £20 abroad.
They set the price high to put it out of the reach of the ordinary man. That's sexism.

As a man, nobody is interested in your welfare. As a matter of fact, including your rights and welfare into plans is bad for business. That's until you scatter the business, not with violence though.

Men should learn to scatter the business if the rights of men and boys are not incorporated.

Don't even get me started about Male Genital Mutilation!

The rise of 'Masculinism...

Men's rights need to be given more attention since these women under the guise of feminism just can't leave us be in our own God-given world . grin

Very interesting read. This goes to lend credence to the gender preconceptions facing men which the western media would not want come to limelight. They're mostly interested in women's plight and would do everything possible to subvert men's prejudices while propagating women's rights.

Women might have the lion share when it comes to being discriminated or suppressed but men bear a huge chunk of the stick too. And until there's an awareness and an equal attempt at sensitising the world about issues bordering men, justice may not be in sight for women. There's a need to start addressing the predicament of men now that it's at his nascent stage before it escalates to a monumental scale.

The issue of paternity test is a very sensitive one and I think the government feels there's a dire need to protect kids from the tribulations that comes with the revelation that the father they have known all their life isn't their biological father. Most men would react drastically which could jeorpadise these kids future and traumatised them for life.

However, I'd not discourage a man from conducting a paternity test on his kids to ascertain they're his just because I don't want the kids suffer for it. No, that's not enough to remain with her heartless mother who doubles as a cheat and manipulator.

Men should confirm their kids paternity leaning but should seek to protect the rights and welfare of them even if it's revealed the kids aren't theirs. But should and must discontinue every relationship with their deceptive mum and cut all ties with her. A manipulator and cheat deserve no leniency.

Your first paragraph isn't precise. If you go through the pic I attached, you'll notice there are lots of pressing issues that men bear the larger % of.

A man doesn't have to burden himself with raising another man's kids. He can simply tell the Mom to contact their dad to come get them.
He doesn't have to cut ties with the Mom. They can still be friends. They may even have biological kids together cus there are cases where some of the kids may be fathered by the him.

In situations where the man will choose to be responsible for the kids despite knowing they are not his, that's fine. But he should be given that option. Society shouldn't force kids he didn't father on him.

I agree with the bolded and the message of paternity confirmation you're trying to pass across. But I disagree with a man maintaining a relationship with the woman if discovered that she had extra-marital affairs that led to the birth of 'their' child.

Discontinuing his fatherly role with such kid without ensuring the mother suffers for her actions isn't worth the hassle of going through a paternity test in the first instance. I'd rather embrace the innocent child than her cold-hearted mother.

It's £20 not dollars.

You can do your research. I won't spoon-feed you.

There are test kits out there. They look similar to the lil white pregnancy kit or HIV kit.

In the UK, paternity test is outlawed unless the mom signs up for it. The dad as a parent does not have the right to test his child without the mom's approval.

In France, the test is outlawed entirely. The French government feels fatherhood is societal and motherhood is biological. In other words, the man doesn't have to be the father to be the father. He just has to be the one paying to be the father. They call this KEEPING THE PEACE.

The men get psychological tormented by this but can't import the test kit because Immigration will intercept it and they will be fined, jailed or both. So the men send the samples to Spain for the test. Even if the test is negative, they'll still be forced to be the "father", but the men don't mind. At least now they know. The men call the measure THE RIGHT TO KNOW.

The Nigerian government has jurisdiction over the Ministry of Health. The government is aware of the artificial cost of paternity test.

The Ministry of Information can also enlighten the public on the relevance of paternity test. Can't they?

Yes it is unfair to deceive a man to father kids that aren't his.

While I won't argue won't you about France and Spain that I know nothing of, your theory about Nigeria is conspiracist to say the least.

Everything in NIGERIA is expensive.
Even the 1dollar bathing gels here sell for at least #1,500 back home if I remember correctly. It's the exploitation rampant in all sectors of the economy not a deliberate attempt to stop fathers from doing paternity tests.

@bold, You mean they should hold rallies and urge fathers to take their kids for paternity tests?

Without being told you don't feel it sounds funny? Get the random dude and sow doubt in his mind that his kids may not be his.
Oga talk another thing.

Good health care is still a mirage in NIGERIA and you're making it sound like lack of access to easy paternity tests is a conspiracy against men in particular. The health care sector is flat on it's stomach for now. If HIV testing and drugs wasn't subsidized by some well meaning people, the test kits would be outrageous too.

Sweden is a signatory to ECHR and a member state of EU. If you think 'the talk program' is discriminatory. TAKE YOUR BLOODY COMPLAINT TO STRASBOURG AND TO LUXEMBOURG......but wait....let me guess. Why would a boy need 'the talk'? Isn't that what makes him a man after all? The girl is the one that is going to end up with the stupid, irresponsible, unfocused tag. She is the one in most cases that would have to forfeit her life to raise that kid if God forbid she ends up pregnant. She is one that would have to carry the shame around and also would be subjected to gossips. She is the one that the society would say'look at her, she has got herself pregnant'. A girl is the one that is 90% responsible for getting pregnant. Therefore why should we bother the boys grin? boys would be boys anyways. If you re looking for who to blame, BLAME AND THE SOCIETY AND BLAME YOURSELVES FOR YOUR EVER WILLINGNESS TO ACCEPT GENDER PREJUDICES, AFTER ALL IT IS WHY YOU ARE SUPERIOR TO WOMEN grin

Have you tried researching why women end up with less successful than men? It is very simple. A girl is subconsciously nurtured to be a carer, a nurse, a teacher and go for careers that provide less in terms of intellectual simulation and status while boy is nurtured to be a fighter, a risk taker and an adventurer. The lucky girls that eventually end up at the top of ladder, they must try their hardest not to appear to be bitchy and bitter unsurprisingly most of tend to hold the same view in regards to sexes as their male counterparts. If you are still in doubt, I can share my personal experience grin.

You can enact a million legislations on equality but there would be none if the way we are nurtured continued to interfere with what we can and we cannot do. I believe that gender prejudices against men would be things of the past if men can accept that the prejudices started right at birth; that seemingly less intellectual careers are as much important to the survival of mankind as an engineer and doctor and that being a girl should not affect culpability in moral issues.

@Paternity Test

I find it repulsive for a woman to force someone'e else kids to another man. Nothing is stopping men from fighting against it instead of whining like helpless chicken on the web. I am in full support of any movement or law that will regulate this issue.

There's no way the mark-up will make the cost rise to $1000. Well unless it's some kind of special nuclear lunch code detector scanner remote control or some sh!t.

Never knew paternal test was outlawed in a socialist country like France. This decree is ridiculous and infringes on men's human rights. Read the law was challenged 2years ago but the French courts upheld it citing flimsy reasons. I wonder why news like this aren't publicised on the mainstream media. How can you tell a man he doesn't have the rights to confirm if a child he's spending his resources on is actually his or someone's else.

The law is tacitly backing married women to engage in extra-marital affairs and shouldn't bother if it result to pregnancy as their husbands don't have the legal backings to ascertain the child's parentage. I can't believe a country as France which prides itself as one of the leading nations of democracy and human rights conservation would enact such ridiculous law into it system.

OP, but how sure are you that paternity test cost that much in Nigeria? You can't just conclude from what your friend said. His figure might be that of a private hospital which are usually expensive and not government funded hospitals which are normally moderate.

Nice question.

My friend is a practicing Medical Doctor. He does surgeries too so I'll like to believe he's a surgeon as well.

He works in Federal Medical Center in a state in the SE.

The discussion started based on Male Genital Mutilation. He tried to argue why it's done and I cancelled all his arguments. Even him, doctor, didn't bother asking the WHY question in school/while studying. I mean the deep WHY question.

Sweden, a country which boasts about the highest gender equality statistics in the world has the majority of its women as directly unproductive members to the Swedish economy. What they have there is artificial gender equality which isn't really gender equality but discrimination. A nation where there are quotas for everything. I laugh. These are the women that Nigerian housewives want to imitate. Women who haven't earned the status they currently enjoy

When we say we want gender equality, most Nigerian men will fight against it and tell you how both genders cannot be equal because they fear that if gender equality was achieved, the would lose most privilege they enjoy today. They forgot that if gender equality was achieved, they would not have to suffer some things themselves but mathematically they would lose more privilege than they would gain as women suffer much more discrimination so they fight against gender equality. If you do not believe in gender equality, you have to realise that men will suffer some things while women will suffer some things. If you do not believe in gender equality, do not cry when you face inequality because of your gender. You have to know that you will win some and lose some.

I hope guys can realise that when women say they want gender equality, they're actually lobbying for the good parts of it. We have housewife feminists on this very nairaland who would not marry a jobless man yet they claim to be feminists. And why not, the very practise of feminism in Nigeria and other parts of the world absolves women of responsibilities they don't want to take. Believe a woman's cry for equality at your own peril. Life will teach you to test each spirit, prophecy and confession. To the feminist housewives in this forum, would you have married your husbands had he been jobless for whatever reason and you had a job? Would you have shouldered the majority of the wedding expenses even? grin Funny, funny people all over this place. *smh* Tell your stories to the marines.

You want to encourage that? Be my guest.

About the price, I'm for lowering it, if it is truly exaggerated like you say. It will benefit everyone not just the men.

Assigning of kids from other men to a husband isn't actually a western thing like OP says happens in Sweden and co. Maybe theirs is even recent.

In Igbo culture a man is the automatic father of any child born 'under his roof' even if the wife was impregnated by another man.

He does a have a choice not to father the kid is he wants (it is not forced). but according to the culture, he has an upper hand or bigger claim to such a kid even if the biological father wants the child. So far the woman is not married to the other guy, the child is the husband's. And it was socially acceptable and still is.

Of course I don't support this as it is unfair to the biological dad in case he wants his child but I'm just stating that's what happens in igboland before some people will carry feminists in Britain on their head like pure water for sale.

One of the quickest ways to know a fraudulent feminist, and I think their all frauds, is listen to them closely. Once you hear "be a man", "be a gentleman", "be romantic", you know you're talking to a pretender. Sexism is abhored in feminism, which is why I'm baffled with feminists calling for the establishment of quotas in the corporate world to boost female participation. Hahahaha. Such equality. Their biggest fraud, which still grinds my gears, is the perpetuation of the gender pay gap which has been refuted by economists and even feminists and feminist apologies for decades, yet these equal women keep propounding this lie. I would take anything a feminist said with a grain of salt.

The average woman cannot do what the average man can do. Look at men and women born on the same day and given the exact same opportunities. Study their lives over a 50-year period, the results will be glaring.

I'll assume in Nigeria, a man can have the test done without the consent of the wife.
Anyway, if that's the case, no discord will be sown in the home because the mother doesn't have to know. What prevents the man is the COST.

And how are you sure she's not cheating?

You'll be surprised the number of men that don't know about that test. The bulk of our population are not the enlightened. Even the literate ones are still backward. After all, some literate parents still allow their sons to be genitally mutilated. Some literate parents bathed themselves and their kids with salt solution during the Ebola period.

It's only when it comes to male rights that society will be wanting to be sensitive. If it's about female rights, EVERYBODY DEMONSTRATE!! VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN!! DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN!! GIRL CHILD THIS!! NTA!! AIT!! CNN!! TEAR SH!T UP!!

When it concerns males rights, females will be like: BUT HOW WILL THE WOMAN FEEL?!! IT WILL BE EMBARRASSING TO THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN!!

Hmm.

If in doubt, every man should have the right to know (discretely or otherwise) if he's the father or not. Don't you agree?

Assigning of kids from other men to a husband isn't actually a western thing like OP says happens in Sweden and co. Maybe theirs is even recent.

In Igbo culture a man is the automatic father of any child born 'under his roof' even if the wife was impregnated by another man.

He does a have a choice not to father the kid is he wants (it is not forced). but according to the culture, he has an upper hand or bigger claim to such a kid even if the biological father wants the child. So far the woman is not married to the other guy, the child is the husband's. And it was socially acceptable and still is.
.

I am not referring to assigning kids! The crux of my post is the artificial cost of paternity test in Nigeria!

Before you misconstrue my points with the Igbo culture as if you are selling opkoroko and tatashe!

@bold, if he's in doubt. Exactly. he has the right to know. Any law that says he can't is very unfair.

But If he's not in doubt, your ''encourage them to check" is the problem. If a man is not in doubt of his kids' paternity, what's a campaign geared towards telling each man to do that supposed to achieve?

Sow doubt in their mind or what?

Mikollon1:

Don't you agree ?

Precise.
