Ibrahim Lamorde, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has stated that currency declaration by travellers out of Nigeria amounted to $12.058 billion in three years.





That is declared money ooh not looted funds, far too much. I doubt even British people going on holiday abroad brought that much out of their economy. The local tourism sector should be looking to get at least 10% of that value as a viable target

EFCC is a special branch of Nigeria Police tasked to prevent stealing of government money as well as catching and prosecuting corrupt people.

The president of the country is not tasked to catch and prosecute thieves and corrupt people.

you should know Lamorde is talking about monies declared and not stolen money by the past Govt. and these money did not leave Nigeria at once in a single transaction hence America will NOT know.

i think Lamorde and EFCC needed a strong man at the center to get into action. cos all of a sudden they seem to be working

This statistics does not necessarily equate to government funds they are mostly individual funds even the average travelling allowance alone is about $1000 multiply that by the number of suppose travellers and see what u get .
