Group Backs Odumakin’s Call For EFCC Probe Of Aregbesola by wolesmile(m): 12:25pm On Aug 18, 2015
A human rights group under the aegis of Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State CSCEO has thrown its weight behind the petition submitted to the anti-graft body, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC by the national publicity secretary of pan-yoruba cultural group, Afenifere Mr Yinka Odumakin, detailing the allegations of financial mismanagement and corruption against Mr.Aregbesola.

It would be recalled that Comrade Odumakin, an indigene of Osun State, had last week submitted the petition titled “Petition against Governor Rauf Aregbesola for financial recklessness, corruption, money laundering and fraudulent application of Osun State’s resources”, on behalf of a group, called Osun Stakeholders.

The group however declared that Governor Aregbesola has allegedly received sum of N10 billion from the Federation Account in the month of June, queering the rationale behind the purported payment of half salary to the workers in the State, after the State government had collected the full allocation from the Federal government that could pay three months salaries conveniently.

In a statement issued by its Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman in Osogbo yesterday, the group urged the EFCC to expedite action on the investigation into the alleged financial management of the State under Rauf Aregbesola’s administration, alleging that Mr. Aregbesola has committed financial crimes against the people of the State.

According to him, “Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola’s government has blindfolded the people of the State with series of lies since all this while on the allocation accrued to the State from Federation Account and as well mismanaged the huge resources accrued to the State which is against the spirit of openness, fairness, justice and accountability promised the people by Aregbesola’s government .

“Mr. Aregbesola has plunged Osun State into debt regime which the State may not recover from, in the next ten years and Mr. Governor failed to give tangible explanations on how funds from federation account like; State allocation, local government allocation, Sure-P, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) fund, Excess Crude Oil, Ecological Fund, accrued to the State and other
funds like; Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Federal Lawmakers Constituency allowances, Workers Pension Contributory Fund, Workers Cooperative Deduction loan, Bond fund and Commercial banks loan."

Osun has entered "one chance" in the hands of Thief Aregbesola. We thought he was a Messiah but unfortunatenately for him he turned out to be a fraudster, looter, betrayer, liar, mismanager, fake welfarist, political robber, etc.
Many petitions already at EFCC against you and many more are still coming. You think we are illiterate or unenlightened in Osun State abi? You can never escape thhe wrath of the law in the hands of EFCC. I regret voting this religiously, academically , morally and govermentally fake man.
Thief Aregbe!

I can't fathom the reason why Nigerians emphasise non-payment of salaries as if that were the only shortcoming of Aregbe's Govt. The inadequacies in the pretender's govt transcend salary issue.
Parents who enrol their children in Osun public schools are having their future RUINED by Aregbesola, owing to unprecedented puplic educational retardation and collapse in the State under the administration of Ogbeni Chief Honourable Aregbesola.
For the past one year, academic activities have been paralysed in the schools partly as a result of Aregbe's failure to provide basic and necessary materials such as chalk, report cards, classrooms etc. Imagine my 'able' Governor merging three different high schools together in one school compound without any additional building or classrooms in the compound since 2013 he merged the schools. Imagine what the shortage of classrooms would be like in a compound mearnt for a school but forced by Aregbe to accomodate three /four schools without additional buildings or classrooms.
This is the terrible situation in many Osun schools. However, the cosmetic Governor trickly built few schools in strategic conspicuous places within the State Capital and some other towns, especially along the Federal roads so that travellers passing across the State could see the schools and get the impression that he built similar structures in schools all over the State. He is very good at propaganda and political grandstanding like this.
I swear by God! I witnessed it one day when students were contributing money to buy chalk. And I was told that this had been the practice since the first term. For this reason and many others, it is no longer news that Osun schools did not conduct both 1st and 2nd terms exams (unprecedented in the history of Osun State, even during Military era). And this is 3rd term ; teachers too are on strike justifiably. This means that Osun students have wasted a whole academic year. And Aregbe would be articulating propaganda in the media, giving the outside world an impression that he is transforming the State. What a Governor!
Another scam/ sham perpetrated by Aregbesola is the WHITE-ELEPHANT Opon Imo Tablet project, a multi-billion naira project coordinated by his first son, Kabiru. I want to make it clear to Nigerians here that not all students were given tablets, contrary to the tricky impression given to the outside world.
The tablet was given to only SS 3 students shortly before the WASSCE and retrieved from them before they finish the WASSCE. Would this short period of custody enable students to make effective use of the tablet? The govt of Aregbesola assured the people that the Tablets under the coordination of Aregbe's son, Kabiru, would be built in a way that students would not be able to upload files onto it. But it turned out to be a ruse because today, the Tablets hardly serve any other purpose for students than entertainment, for the short period of time they have it. It is no more to the students now than a mere ghetto blaster/ boom box used to play all sorts of videos and audios even in the classrooms, as lamented by some teachers.
