Maybe you didn't read the post. It wasn't Buhari that made the appointment, else we would have seen a name like Alhaji Yero Usman Babangida...

Anyways, on your post, left for me, next election, Buhari is getting 0.5% rather than 2%. Let him then do his worst!!!

A new Acting Director-General has been appointed by the National Planning Commission (NPC) for the Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), Ibadan. He is Professor Olakunle Odumosu, a United States of America-trained research expert.

He succeeds Professor Olufemi Taiwo, who in his last days in office battled workers who were averse to his style of leadership especially on workers' welfare.

Curiously however, THISDAY observed that encomiums were showered on him by his management staff members at Wednesday's brief hand-over ceremony in Ibadan, with leading professors in the institute describing his tenure as the one that had engendered "stability and productivity."

Taiwo bowed out after completing his four years of leadership of the Institute, and handed over the baton to Professor Odumosu, who is the most senior Director in NISER in line with a letter from the Secretary of the National Planning Commission‎.

Professor Taiwo used the occasion to call on the Federal Government to continue to make the best use of outputs from policy research institutes like NISER “with a view to taking correct decisions that would lead to national development”.

, dats ok, atleast d workers wil cool down, i can rememba d report of dis same organization wich i read here abt workers complaining abt d immediate DG style of leadership, no meaningful development wil take place wen workers' welfare are nt being considered and dat organization wil nt progress, i pray dis new DG wil take care of d workers welfare and oda conditions.

For your information, the National Planning Commission which made the appointment, is under the Presidency.

It's absurd to even assume that any executive appointment is made without the Presidents consent. Not to mention one that is directly under the Presidency.
