Last batch i bought for N2,150 and i enquired today again, its still same price. In a recession, usually spending is down and money is scarce, but this nija version is touching o. Everything has gone up in price, even cost of labour also, workers are complaining about the high cost of living, and its true.

Yet I still see properties being advertised for billions, our engineers/contractors/suppliers, what is the actual situation on the ground ?

In your experience, when a construction work is about to start, is it better to just buy as much as you can. When i started my project, i have bought cement for N1,850, last quarter of 2015 i bought for as low as N1,350 and now highest at N2,150.

Toilet sanitary ware, I bought it since January and they are only just using it, little did i know that prices would jump up north like this.

It appears the price is coming down, I bought N2,050 @Onitsha yesterday.
As distributors resorts to hoarding over fear of escalating forex creating artificial scarcity and price hike, savy and shrewed builders resorts to adjusting speed and rescheduling project take off, the shylock hoarders has and will still have no choice than to open their warehouse thus causing price to start climbing down.
Bulk storage of cement over time cost money. Let them hoard, and we will remain in our mud house afterall we were born and thrived well in it.

Erico what's funny, most in my age aren't innit generation or born with silverspoon.........you forget say most of us were highly priviledged to grew up in mud houses, which by the way is very cool during the hot weather and warm during harmattan season.....due to a sort of natural airconditioning system already factored in by our ingenius forefathers during construction......and unfortunately an evolution that didnt continue with this our now the what's up! and oyibo made is the best mentality generation.

Unsurprisingly these same mud system of building and thatched roofing are springing up here and there in some European towns. They aren't in short supply in some Welsh, and English villages especially along Holyhead-Chester-London train routes.

Let cement no come down and see whether we can't retrace our mud ideas, afterall some folks here are already tinkering on starting the burnt brick evolution.

It might be difficult to get one person to order a TRAILER LOAD at a time unless they are Resellers or into a very big, building for hire (Building Contractor).

I would encourage that you source for two or three people to share a Trailer-load, pull them together and work out the logistics of delivery.
There are many micro-builder who need just 200 - 300 Bags at a time, so why not go to construction sites, ask for the owners and ask them for their "TIME FRAME/SCHEDULE" in buying Cement?

If you know their Schedule and you have a "Pool" of about ten people, you can then workout (by discussion) when it will sooth you (and them) to deliver to say about three of them, at the same time.

That way, its a win-win for everyone..... and you make more sales, instead of waiting for one person to order 1000 units.

I think @Chekitaut and other bulk suppliers should also look into this as well

Looking at your suggestion, l am sure the Retailer would have to add his own profit margin to that price you quoted (#2,000).

My drive was about how the end-buyer/User can still get the Cement at the quoted price of #2,000 (we all like to buy as low as possible ), direct from the Wholesaler while the Wholesaler still retains the advantage of Volume sales.
