In response to this post above, manufacturers spent 129.95billion Naira on power generation last year, it is on the front page, you can go peruse over it if you can, this are part of the cost in the production process & chain that they all go through daily and they pass it to consumers via their products, and as long as the kangaroo government both past and present didn't do enough to address nor ameliorate this issue, the masses are in for tougher times ahead, you don't expect me to spend so much to produce a bag of cement and put it in the market at a loss smiley

The enormous Dangote, etc qtrly profits are after/despite the staggering power generation expenses. Monopolistic profits, period!

Dangote is a shrewd business man, he has been able to play his joker smartly with successive government in Nigeria (both civilian and the military) methinks he has the Nigerian economy in his pocket, I read an article in a foreign magazine and they said Dangote and other Nigerian billionaires wouldn't have been able to get away with several economic infractions they got away with in Nigeria if they operated in the West, Dangote is for everyone and for no one sad

Dear All,

Please can someone help me with the cost for digginga pair of soak-away (big & small) in Atan Area of Ogun State?

I'll also like to know the total cost German flooring for a building in Sokenu Area of Atan, Ogun State. I have attached the plan for the building in the dropbox link below for your reference. I need a detailed cost analysis including materials and labour cost.

I have seen this your request, so many times and it appears no one, including myself, has been able to answer you, and that bothers me A LOT. angry

I suspect the reason for the lack of response is because you have "localised" the response you want, to a particular area of the country, where NO ONE probably has any idea of!
Most people, like me, probably dont know how much they sell Iron Rods, Cement, Sand, Plank, Nails, binding wire and other inputs required to achieve your request in that place you said is in Ogun state!
I dont even know where the area is and if l dont, how can l gauge the cost of labour in the area?

What l think you should do is get the cost of doing a soak-away and a German floor (if you would provide the details of the area to be covered by the concrete slab) in a general area like Lagos, PHC, Abuja or any other area and then, using your own knowledge of "local price" of materials in your locality, extrapolate it and do some adaptation to your own peculiar needs.

Nor vex o, l just dey worried and concerned. undecided

Like I said, your post and attitude is what is wrong with this country. Its ironic really, someone come here to talk about the unruly behaviour of Nigerians and our knack for not following due process and standards, our lack of discipline. Posting all these political talk in the Properties section on a thread about construction and not in any way feeling that you and likes of yours have hijacked/disrupted the thread and its flow is branch from the same tree of indiscipline and disregard for process we see everyday in Nigeria among the people and government. If it makes you sleep well at night to justify all this political talk on the basis of it's germaneness to cost of building materials because it is the bigger picture cheesy cheesy cheesy no problem. Lets make the thread an all comers since in the end everything eventually links to everything.

You know, some people are narrow minded and straight-jacketed, their 'thought-process' is only in 'one-dimension'.

If the Class teachers says:
Today, we are takingMathematics as a subject;
and asks them the following question( in English): if Olu bought two oranges and each one cost #5, how much did Olu pay for the oranges?
Some sort of student will ask the teacher: Sir, why are you asking us a question in "English language"?,
The Question should have been asked in "Mathematics language" because we are doing mathematics right now! grin grin

That is my best way of describing your reaction about "Political talk" ....on a Building thread"!
Despite all the analogies and you still cant see the link between the two, then l cant be of help to you.
Like l said, if it bothers you that much, just flip to the next page/thread.

Thank you for your concern Sir.

Seeing your environment is a bit "isolated", l will suggest that you be careful when you want to doing your electrical wiring.
let it be one of the last thing to be done and when you want to do it, please do provide some sort of "sleep-over" security for the house.
Thieves have been known to remove all cables overnight, especially when the fittings have not been screwed-in and the wires have no tgone live with Electricity.
I know that fencing may not be all that feasible right now, for cost reasons so, we need to think about other means of securing the cables. undecided undecided

Cables are so expensive now, l will hate some heartless thieves coming to wreck havoc on your struggle.

Is it a milestone?
Too much off-topic discuss makes following the thread difficult. But then again man is an emotional being.

That's the reason why I never criticise any person asking about questions that have previously been answered.

Thanks so much Daboomb. I will take you advise very seriously. I have neighbors on both flanks though. The house sits on an acre which is mine which makes it look isolated. People are disturbing but I'm not selling grin.
Thanks once again cos I'll soon be doing d wiring and plumbing.

It's a simple inside joke and the person that I specifically mentioned would get it. Others might too.

As far as on or off topic, it doesn't bother me because I can easily sort the wheat from the chaff.

Hello People,

I've been a silent follower of this thread for many months and learnt so much which has benefited my ongoing build.

Can we please keep our arguments and debate civil and not descend to name calling, insults or counter insults. I believe most people on this forum are adults, what do you actually gain by trading insults with a stranger?

You can agree to disagree and move on. You mustn't win every argument or debate especially when the people being supported don't care anyway.

Please guys let's share our experiences or ideas in a positive way. Its time to stop this back and forth insults. It serves no purpose and won't change anyone's mind on our political state of affairs.

Thank You

Thank you so much for your concern. Its actually becoming an issue for me because I'm not able to check and confirm quantities and prices my local bricklayer and labor is pushing forward to me.

I would really appreciate it if anyone can provide me with typical details from projects around Lagos, Sango-Ota etc.
