THE BATTLE OF PIGS IN LAGOS - BY RICHARD AKINNOLA
ACT ONE:
Fidelis Oyakhilome was the boss of the NDLEA under IBB. He had a liaison with a woman called Jennifer Madike. There was a deal between the duo. Jennifer was arrested and eventually ended up in prison. Inimitable Fela Anikulapo-kuti, had an ingenious way of cynically coining English words into Yoruba. Fela said the meaning of OYAKHILOME in Yoruba was "Oya, kilo mo"(come and say what you know). Fela said Oyakhilome was being called to answer what he knew about the scandal in the order of his name. Watch out what am gonna write tomorrow on Fashola, Tinubu and Ambode. This house of deceit in Lagos MUST fall. To your tents o Lagos. This is the time for the trio to bear the name OYAKHILOME, to tell us what they know about these scandals in Lagos.
IN our local parlance, it is said that "l no go gree, l no go gree, na im dey tear cloth". Now that cloth don tear for Lagos, everibodi don see the unclothedness of the three people. First, the revelations from the "opposition" Ambode - led Lagos state government on the contracts awarded by the Public Procurement agency under the Fashola government, is to say the least, very embarrassing. I still find it difficult to comprehend how any sane person could award a N139 million contract for the construction of two boreholes or Julius Berger constructing a car park and other renovations in Lagos House for N640 million. That could construct an airport runway! We need to know those on that procurement Board! Who approved such? Or is there something APC is not telling us?. I strongly suspect that these padded or inflated contracts are the channel for financing elections. In other words, all the trio are complicit. Where did Lagos state government, a core financier of the Buhari, Ekiti, Osun and Ambode elections, get the money to finance the elections? Very probably from these humongous contract inflation. So, who will cast the first stone? The starting point is for EFCC to invite for interrogation, the trio of Tinubu, Fashola and Ambode. The body should thoroughly examine the books. Ambode should do us a favour. And l would praise him to high heavens if he can do this. Please, start this expose from Tinubu time and also the period Ambode served as the Accountant - General of the state under Fashola. Let us know the financial transactions between you and Fashola. And flowing from the revocation of the contract of the the Falomo shopping complex, Ambode should please go a step further to also revoke the take over of the large expanse of land in Ikosi by the TVC, owned by Tinubu. The land belonged to the Lagos state polytechnic. Overnight, LASPOTECH were ordered out of that place in 2006 and were relocated to Ikorodu and the land taken over by the godfather. Other alleged questionable deals that Ambode should investigate: * Is it true that 26 Boardillon road, ikoyi, Tinubu’s house, was initially falsely presented as Oando Guest House and that he purportedly bought it from Oando, and used public funds to rebuild it? Is it true that Lagos state government bought the property and then gave it to him under the contoversial pension bill signed into law before he left office in 2007? * Ambode should please tell us the status of the Lekki-Epe toll gate issue and the promoters of the deal. * Ambode should tell us or the EFCC, who are those fronting for Fashola? And how much has been traced to his accounts, either personally or by proxy. * What was the role of Ambode as Perm sec Ministry of Finance under Tinubu and Accountant General for six years under Fashola and the costs of contracts during this period? We need to know. * Fashola must defend all the allegations of these huge contract costs as being published by the Ambode government. * Finally, l implore Governor Ambode to set up a Judicial commission of inquiry to look into all the contracts and the sale/ transfer of Lagos properties from 1999 to 2015. The trio of Tinubu, Fashola and Ambode all have questions to answer. OYAKHILOME (Oya, kilo mo), (tell us what you know), according to Fela. Let us bring down the house of deceit. When armed robbers share loot and the sharing formula is not equitable, this is what happens. Guns are pulled at each other. Eko ti nbaje o.
