She was sleeping peacefully in her room Oblivious of what awaits her I walked in to check on her And it just came over me It gripped me like scarlet fever There was a train track Just some feet away from our backyard This evil thought became so strong I sprung into action I lifted her up Not a stir from her I walked out of the room Not a murmur Then towards the railway Not a shout still I got excited I laid her quietly on the tracks And retreated to await the result I heard a deafening sound And knew the hour had come I opened my eyes just in time To see her wriggle her small body On the rails and under the train As the train walked on her The air became still So still all life could die And the sun disappeared |
