Just something to encourage hopefuls. I had enquired in August about the likelihood of my husband and I getting a visa to escort my then 15 year old son to school he turned sixteen last week. Issue is I am at of work currently, and my husband was refused USA visa in 2011 so I was abit apprehensive, but took the advice I got from the NL which suggested we both applied and so we did.

Application : 28 September

Medical mail: 12 October

Medical done. 13 October

Approval mail: 20 October for only my son so we were worried

Picked up passport today we were all given visas.

Really grateful for the advice, my husband will drop him off at school next week.. We used the paper route.

I gained admission to fleming college ontario,i have paid my first semester fee (6000 CAD) and i submitted my visa application and i was refused Visa.The situation on ground is that the statement of account available has about 1.5m in it and the other fund available is in my brothers account about 3m. i want to reapply for TRV for january 2016. Please i need your advice @Khalesi and other gurus..thanks

That's not even a problem. The study permit will be issued to cover the period of study, irrespective of the date on visa. The only issue is the person may not be able to travel outta Canada after his/her visa expires, but the study permit will still be valid and with that he/she can remain legally in Canada.

I have been a silent follower. I posted few questions but no reply. I just got my approval mail but I have one issue and don't know how to go about it, my passport expires June next year and I'm going in for a 2year course. I just learnt that I can't be issue study permit more than the validity of my passport. What will I do? Please this is important. Someone that has gone through this . thank you

you can renew your passport in Toronto Nigerian embassy , whenever it is due. but that place consist of the worst set of people you can imagine it is very frustrating if i were you ill find a way to renew in nigeria before leaving. dunno if anyone has answered your question

Mist if the fee payments are mostly per semester or term. Depending on ur school

A person did. But thank you, I was told i will renew at Ottawa. Do you know if my study permit will be issued for the duration of my course or validity of passport.

Hello guyz, I just discovered this forum yesterday. I was invited to do my medicals for TRV, which I completed last week. My online profile was recently updated to medical result "Passed". Now am waiting for immigration to request for my passport. My question is, can I send my passport to the embassy via UPS without using VFS service?
