Embattled chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Ekiti State, Chief Jide Awe, has described the latest appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari as lopsided and condemnable.
Jide Awe, in a reaction to the Thursday’s appointment, was bold and frank as he stood his ground against what he tagged the ‘northern agenda. He said the list of the new appointees had left him perplexed.
“That the President Buhari led administration is biased and lopsided in its dealings with Nigerians is no more defendable. We can’t defend the obvious sentiment any longer.
“How comfortable on earth can we justify 5 out of 46 appointments in favour of the northerners?” Awe queried.
He further said, “This is not good at all. Why should he choose everybody from the North? I am sure he did not confide in anybody before drawing up the list and making the announcement. We will continue to watch. It is condemnable.”
However, he pleaded with the southerners not to now see the party (APC), as the party of the northerners, by the northerners and for the northerners.
In the same vein, a prominent APC leader from Ekiti State, who pleaded anonymity said the leaders of the party in the South-West were shocked by Buhari’s latest appointments.
