Hi guys, quick advice, im having to decide between a naija used 2008 Honda accord or a 2003 tokunboh lexus es300, thanks in advance
Re: Advice : Honda Or Lexus by mayorjosh(m): 8:56pm On Sep 01, 2015
Baba pick d lexus 300 ooo...considering the states of our roads..

Besides when honda starts its problems(esp gear box) it'll be hard to find original n durable one (original b like gold here in ladipo, lagos)

Fuel consumption too is also anoda factor bro
Re: Advice : Honda Or Lexus by vani86: 9:19pm On Sep 01, 2015
Thats a big downgrade. Instead of rx 300 go for 2003 or 4 highlander. If you live at a place where the roads are good get a honda accord or consider toyota muscle/spider they are roughly at s same price.

Earlier this montj when i wanted to get a car i was torn between 2008 accord and 2007-2010 camry. I ended up getting a camry

What are u talking about bro? Check the 2 pictures below and tell us the road the Lexus ES300 would go through that a 2008 Honda accord can't go through. And talking about fuel economy, how on earth can a 3.0L v6 be more fuel efficient than a 2.4L I4 when both cars are family sedan? I like the Lexus no doubt, but it is older and if the naija used 2008 accord is clean without abuse I would pick it over a 2004 Lexus es300. Mind u, the Lexus es300 is Toyota big for nothing with a Lexus badge and slightly better interior.

Oh before I forget, I never knew they have started making fake transmissions for Honda or what do u mean when u said it would be hard to find original gearbox?

Aorund march this year my bros EODs gear box had issues...we bought 'para' gearbox twice before findin a fairly used one...the guy who sold it to us told us its a norm that we aren't d only ones who v had dat experience....he even said it is mostly common among BABY BOYs

That is ur own fault for buying 'para' gearbox. There are no china gearbox, either u buy tokunbo or buy one that has been worked on. It all depends on where u buy. And u need luck too because they won't give u more than 1 week warranty on a used gearbox.

My bad, OP it aint up for discussion 2008 accord is d way to go between the 2 cars.

There is no way you can compare a 2003 car with a 2008 car. Thats 5 years difference

Actually it depends on the cars. A 2003 Mercedes Benz E320 is still ahead of a 2008 Honda accord. Both are not in the same class though.

Mecerdes aint a car that someone who is looking for something economical to maintain should go for.

Brother take the '08 accord and forget about the big for nothing '03 lexus. There's nothing special about that ES300.

Bros stop am ooo. No dey bad mouth honda like that jare especially the baby boy. I got mine 3 years ago, because i was a novice, i was quick to replace the gear box 6 months after purchase and when i replaced it, i've only had cause to change tranny oil. So trannys don't just gpo bad like that, maintenance matters.

Taa, yes its a Lexus but actually big for nothing xle v6. 2008 accord ex-l v6 kicks its ass real hard. The accord is faster and more comfortable and more powerful. If it were Lexus GS300 I would succumb as it is equipped with RWD.

Don't succumb to anything, whether ES, IS, LS, GS, I still believe the Evil spirit will have enough gadgets as them only difference will be engine size and power output

Umm, I think u are mistaken. Honda evil spirit is no match for Lexus LS, they are far far apart. LEXUS ES is a rebadged camry so that I will agree. Lexus IS is a baby Lexus. But I still think Lexus GS of the same year edges the evil spirit especially because it is RWD.

I am talking about the year difference not same year. There is nothing fancy or fascinating or fantastic in the 2003/04 lexus ES, IS, LS, GS that will triumph over the evil spirit. like I said just engine and power output.

What are you saying?
Do you know about the Lexus that you're condemning?

May I inform you It was Lexus that broke the jinx of Mercedes Benz domineering hold in Luxury market.

A 2004 Lexus Ls430 is still ahead of a 2008 honda accord. From the interior finish to entertainment system to safety features to comfort and luxury, the Lexus is far ahead. We are talking full size luxury against a mid size non luxury. U want compare the leather seats in a Lexus to that of an accord v6? Th difference is very clear.

Ok the accord is better in one area... Fuel economy lol. I don't expect anyone that drives a Lexus LS 430 to care about fuel economy.
