Help!! The Way I Spend Makes Me Feel Guilty by Nobody: 9:52am On Sep 03, 2015
Recently, I have had more money than I
have ever had in my life. It is not a lot of money, but it seems relatively much
because I have very few needs and thus
always seem to have more than enough
to meet those needs. What I have noticed is that with this increase in
means, I have also increased my taste.
So in the past when I would be grateful
for a black-and-white TV, today I want a
HDTV. In the past I used to be tolerant,
though uncomfortable, with taking the
bus for durations as long as 2 hours
sometimes. Nowadays I am talking about buying a car or taking a cab for over 10 times the price of a cab. In all these instances of better taste, whenever I spend, I tend to feel guilty because I feel like I am doing something wrong by paying for comfort. Does any one else feel this way? How do I get out of thinking like this? Or am I really
overspending and is an increased taste a bad thing? How much should I pay to
choose comfort over just being "okay?"

@OP: Learn to be prudent. Always ensure there is justification for every expenditure. it's not bad to give yourself a treat occasionally, however ask yourself that subtle question..'is this really necessary'. In 'Economists' parlance, there's a BIG difference between 'Needs' and 'Wants'.
