Reports reaching our correspondence in Enugu yesterday gave the news about how ESWAMA (Enugu State Waste Management Authority) staffs are busy going around, intimidating and robbing people in the state. Yesterday seemed to be the height of their notorious activities in the state .
They went to a compound occupied by students in #10 Unije Street Independence Layout Enugu, and started harassing people, One of them (ESWAMA) went as far as videoing on his phone a female occupant who was having her bath, when the boys living in the compound saw this act, they rounded up the eswama officials and beat the hell out of them. The ones that managed to escape went and called SARS to come and terrorize these students more, they arrested almost 20 female students leaving in that compound for no just reason. This is calling on the state Government to look into the ways this ESWAMA people operate. It is said that they just bulge into peoples houses, rooms and start intimidating their occupants.
It would be recalled that their acts in the past has led to the death of a young boy early this year.
