Is Aisha Buhari's Ten Million Naira Wrist Watch An Asset? by chidinma003(f): 9:45pm On Sep 03, 2015
Happening Now: Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, have declared their asset. A statement by the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu said “the documents submitted to the CCB, which officials say are still being vetted and will soon be made public, show that prior to being sworn in on May 29, President Buhari had less than N30 million to his name.

President Buhari -
1) N30m cash in only one Union Bank account
2) Shares in Berger Paints, Union Bank and Skye Bank
3) Five houses - two in Kaduna, one each in Abuja, Kano and Daura
4) Two mud houses - inherited from his elder sister and father
5) 270 cows, 25 sheep, 5 horses and a variety of birds.
6) Farms, an orchard and a ranch
7)Two undeveloped plots - one each in Kano and PH
cool An unspecified number of cars, 2 bought from his savings, the rest donated by the FG as ex-Head of State and others donated by well-wishers.
No foreign accounts, no factory, no enterprises, no registered companies, no oil wells.

VP Osinbajo -
1) N94m and USD 900,000
2) Four bedroom house at VGC, Lagos
3) 3 bedroom flat at Mosley Rd, Ikoyi
4) 2 bedroom flat at Redemption Camp
5) 2 bedroom mortgaged property in Bedford, England
6) Shares in the following firms - SimmonsCooper; Octogenerium Ltd; Windsor Grant Ltd; Tarapolsa; Vistorion Ltd; Aviva Ltd. and MTN Nigeria.
7) One infinity 4WD SUV, one Mercedes Benz and one Prado Jeep.

We want to thank all those who stood their ground adding their voice to the advocacy for the president to publicly declare his assets as promised. If not for your consistency, they would have run away from doing it by claiming it was the parties manifesto. We have looked at the preliminary documents provided as asset declaration and will be gladly looking forward to seeing the exact documents submitted when its made public. In the coming days, more revelations will unfold. In the interim, one pertinent question begs for answer. Is Aisha's ten million naira wrist watch an asset?

My own question is - Was it after election or before election PMB acquired a house in Abuja? We were told he had only one house. Okay, VP has shares in about 6 companies and a house in the UK, and about three in Lagos, Nigeria. God help Nigeria!

Asset /noun: (2) (usually plural) a thing of value, especially property, that a person or company owns, which can be used or sold to pay debts.
Tell us in economic terminology, what the watch would be registered under.
