People have been so curious about knowing the details of Nigeria's new President's assets. As required by law the President is supposed to declare his assets with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) at the beginning and end of his tenure.
President Muhammadu Buhari and his deputy had long since declared their assets with CCB since their inception into office. As widely acclaimed, they as well promised to declare its content to the public within 100 days of their tenure once their claims have been verified by the CCB.
A statement by the President's Special Assistant on media and publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu, said the CCB had still not concluded the verification of the claims made by the President and his deputy. [But to fulfil their earlier promise], the President and his deputy have now decided to wait no further for the CCB but publicly declare their assets. This also came in to ooze-off the pressure from many Nigerians who kept singing #declareurassets.
Now I ask: Why is no one clamoring for the former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, to as well declare his assets? At least to CCB if not publicly?
