The odd-looking reptile was born in Florida 4 years ago
Every once in a while, Mother Nature likes to throw positively bizarre things our way. For instance, this two-headed albino snake. Its nickname is Medusa and it was born in Florida about 4 years ago.

It has since grown to measure as much as 3 feet (nearly 1 meter) from heads to tail, a feat all the more impressive considering most creatures born with such abnormalities usually don’t live very long.

Medusa is about to become a celebrity

Recently, the rare two-headed reptile was purchased by one Todd Ray, who paid $50,000 (almost €45,000) for it. Todd Ray holds a Guinness World Record for his menagerie of two-headed animals, but felt he needed to get Medusa for his collection to be complete.

“This snake is perfect. Some other two-headed snakes are beautiful, but they have a kink where the heads become one. Medusa doesn’t. It’s as if she was meant to have two heads,” he told HuffPost in an interview.

Since Todd Ray is the owner of Venice Beach Freakshow, it looks like Medusa is about to become quite a celebrity. The weird animals enthusiast plans to put the reptile on display starting next Saturday and it’s safe to assume hundreds will gather to sneak a peek.

Except fame doesn’t seem to interest Medusa

Todd Ray might have big plans for the two-headed Honduran milk snake, but, at least for the time being, Medusa doesn’t seem to care all that much about fame and fortune.

Rather, it’s more preoccupied with settling into its new home and eating as much and as often as possible. In fact, Todd Ray says Medusa appears to have a heartier appetite than the other snake’s he has looked after over the years.

As for how the two-headed albino snake feeds, the usual menu consists of two mice, one for one head and one for the other. Todd Ray usually uses a playing card to separate the heads when feeding Medusa, just to make sure they don’t attack each other.
