Muslim flight attendant ‘suspended by ExpressJet for refusing to serve alcohol because it is against her faith’

Charee Stanley got attendant job three years ago before becoming Muslim. Only realized in June that Islam bans serving alcohol, as well as drinking it.

Says she had an arrangement where other attendants would serve alcohol. However, was suspended in August after one of her colleagues complained. Is now suing ExpressJet for discrimination, saying they violated her rights

A Muslim flight attendant claims she was suspended from her job for refusing to serve alcohol, which is against her religious beliefs.

Charee Stanley, who has been an employee at ExpressJet for three years and converted to Islam a year ago, says she was suspended from the airline in August after another steward complained.

Stanley says she has now filed a discrimination complaint against the carrier, saying they are required to make ‘reasonable accommodation’ of her beliefs.

According to CBS News, Stanley has been a Muslim for two years, but only found out recently that sharia law forbids her from serving alcohol to others, as well as drinking it.

Your job entails serving alcohol, If you convert and can't serve, then quit the job.


It's a business and not a religious house or charity home.


What if the passenger sues the company?


It's like working in a bar and refusing to sell alcohol what are you doing in a bar in the first place?

Don't you guys get? She purposely was bidding her time so she could make a ton of money by sueing, cos she knew she would sooner/ later be suspended / sacked...hypocrite oshi...she taught Americans v time 4 mediocrity...
