Week 28 of the Glo Premier League saw a total of eight games played across stadia in Nigeria on Sunday 6th September 2015 with two delayed games to hold on Monday. Apart from a 1-1 between Nasarawa United and Warri Wolves all other game ended in victories for the home sides.

Enyimba lost for the first time in ten games when Charles Henlong converted a penalty in the 74th minute. The People’s Elephant were before now five points clear at the top of the log but were unlucky to concede a penalty after Anyanwu handled the ball in his box. The result sees Giwa FC remain unbeaten by Enyimba since the Jos based side got promoted to the Glo Premier League. Enyimba are now 4 points above Warri Wolves who climbed to second place over the weekend when they drew at Nasarawa.

Ifeanyi Ubah came off a bad last week by winning relegated threatened side FC Taraba. Goals were provided in the second half by Abdulwahab Bidemi and Chukwude Stephen to secure maximum points for the Nnewi-based club. The win makes it three home wins in a row for Ifeanyi Ubah under Daniel Amokachi and takes them up to 8th on the log with 41 points.

Wikki Tourists closed in on intercontinental football when they put in a spirited display in front of a mammoth crowd to defeat visiting Akwa United 3-1. Victor put the hosts in front after 25 minutes of play and Mubarak equalized 5 minutes into the second half. The hosts continued pressing forward and were rewarded with a goal 6 minutes later through Mubarak. Ebenezer then scored the third goal in the 79th minute to put the game beyond reach of Akwa United. Wikki Tourists are now level on points with 3rd place Sunshine stars at 47 points but differ on goal difference.
