The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have advocated death penalty for those found guilty of corruption. The organised labour also called for the establishment of special courts akin to the electoral tribunals to try cases of corruption. Speaking in Abuja ahead of its planned national rally in support of President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption fight, NLC president, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, said capital punishment for those found guilty has helped curb corruption in some Asian countries like China and India. He said Nigeria must be ambitious if it hopes to overcome the menace of corruption, reiterating that if Nigeria does not kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.
