KOGI State University, Anyigba, has continued to maintain her impressive accreditation record as the National Universities Commission (NUC) once again, granted “A” accreditation status to some postgraduate programmes in the Faculty of Management Sciences presented for the exercise in October, 2014. A letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Hassan S. Isah, and signed by Professor C.F. Mafiana (Deputy Executive Secretary 1), on behalf of the Executive Secretary, said the NUC “after due consideration of the exercise” granted accreditation to postgraduate degree programmes in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Management, Public Administration and Master of Public Administration (MPA). The results of the exercise indicated that Accounting scored 74.7%; Banking & Finance (75%); Management (76.9%); Public Administration (73.7%); and Master of Pubic Administration (MPA) (71.8%). The accreditation status for all the programmes is valid for three years. None of the University programmes has been denied accreditation. In addition to her exploits in the area of programme accreditation, Kogi State University has an “A” status in institutional accreditation valid till 2018. Meanwhile, the 5th convocation ceremonies of the University, have been scheduled to hold on Friday and Saturday, 18th and 19th September, 2015 respectively. Briefing members of the University Management Committee (UMC) during its 151st meeting held at the Council Chamber of the Senate Building, the Vice Chancellor and Chairman of UMC, Professor Hassan Isah, said the Senate Convocation Committee had earlier submitted proposals and estimates towards a successful event. Professor Isah said with these proposed dates, the Convocation Committee would be directed to resume its regular meetings and preparations for the ceremonies. The 24-member Convocation Committee was inaugurated on Friday, 11th January, 2015, by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Hassan Isah. Professor A.
