The State Of Nigeria Under President Buhari by TonyeBarcanista(m): 10:42am On Sep 13, 2015
It is no news that since May 29, Nigeria has been delving from a very bad situation to a near comatose situation. Our economy did not only suffer but appears to be as the biggest victim of Buhari's mal-administration and ineffectiveness. Three sectors that I shall talk about in this article are the Economy, Security and the Petroleum sectors. Let's proceed...

STATE OF THE ECONOMY UNDER BUHARI
During the electioneering period, President Buhari promised a 'gigantic' but illogical economic prosperity when/if elected. Immediately he was elected and sworn-in, everything changed for the negative. Job losses everywhere and uncertainty/negative slide is the order of the day. Let's see JP Morgan issue

JP MORGAN:
To those that don't understand, JP Morgan is simply an index. Investors trust their index so much that over N40 trillion is put up by investors on bonds that JP Morgan list. In 2012 Nigeria's bond under the able leadership of Dr Goodluck Jonathan, ex-Finance Minister Ngozi Iweala and former CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi FOR the first time was listed by the index. This brought about investment into our bond market by foreign investors. In January this year, the Index placed our bond market on a warning list. Unfortunately, they decided to de-list us from their index starting from next month.

Why Nigeria Bond Market Was removed:
JP Morgan's decision to de-list Nigeria's bond is summarily because of lack of fiscal policies by the Buhari government and CBN's tickling/manipulation of the Foreign exchange (www.reuters.com/article/idUSL5N11F1YQ20150909). The failure of Buhari to constitute a cabinet/implement fiscal programs has cost Nigeria potential investors and led to loss of some of the investors that Buhari inherited. The country is bleeding.

JP Morgan Never Asked Nigeria To Devalue The Naira:
Contrary to the fables in some quarters, JP Morgan never asked Nigeria to devalue the Naira as a pre-condition to remain. It only raised concern that CbN was tickering with the Naira thereby allowing it a false value which no investor will accept. In simple terms, it advocated that market indices determine the market value (which some of us have been advocating). It also called for fiscal policies to be implemented , which Buhari led administration is yet to do. The country is bleeding.

STATE OF THE PETROLEUM SECTOR
Okay, since time immemorial, patriotic Nigerians have insisted that the ongoing TAM is due to the efforts by the immediate past administration of Dr Goodluck Jonathan. The administration in March this year was very clear when it told the Senate that our refineries will start working optimally from the first quarter of 2016. On assumption to office, the Buhari administration in June 11 without lifting a 'shovel' came out to say that the Portharcourt refinery will resume optimal production in July www.premiumtimesng.com/business/184850-port-harcourt-refinery-to-start-production-august-nnpc.html. Not done, they came out on July 20 that ALL 4 refineries will start optimal production in July
“I think by July, the four refineries should begin to work,”
www.premiumtimesng.com/business/185402-nigerias-four-refineries-to-resume-production-in-july.html.

July came and gone...August came and has gone... Now the GMD of NNPC on September 10 came out to say the 4 refineries will start working optimally in December
“We must make all the FCCUs (Fluid Catalytic Cracking Units) and the fuel sections to work efficiently in the next three months so that Nigerians will continue to enjoy uninterrupted supply of petroleum products,”
www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/189786-nigerias-4-refineries-must-be-functional-within-90-days-nnpc-boss.html

I won't be surprised If by December they shift it to January/February 2016 in line with the projected first quarter by GEJ administration.

STATE OF SECURITY/INSECURITY:
As a pastor in Tinubu House of Prayer Ministry, Yemi Osinbajo was to use spiritual warfare in alliance with the military experience of renowed War field marshall, General Muhammadu Buhari to uproot Boko Haram from our territory. That was the message that APC gave Nigerians during the electioneering period. But since coming to power, Boko Haram that was in their extinction phase as at May 28 suddenly came back and have been terrorising Nigerians in the most brutal manner. Since May 29, over two thousand Nigerians has lost their lives. The latest victims are the unfortunate people in the IDP camp in Adamawa state. May their souls rest in peace.

@Barcanista or na TonyeBarcanista,
Thought you left to boss up on twitter/FB

Why on earth did you return Dem @Toluogunlesi, @eggheader @omojuwa @ediong @kayodeogundamisi making it impossible for you to find a place.. Sorry for that...

For the inanity you have up there, keep wailing, eight years is a lonnnngggg time!!!

No matter how bad/evil you try to paint PMB, Nigeria can never be worse off than it was during GEJ/PDP's 16years.,

They set the bar so low......

@ Barcanista

I have some questions for you

Why did Facebook ban your account?

Why were you disgraced out of Facebook?

Life is harsh indeed

You wrote a lengthy epistle telling us that were going to join forces with Green9ja and that you guys will take over Nigerian politics.

In less than 2 weeks, you are back to the same forum you left . Dont you have any shame?

This is the same behavior u exhibited during the elections, one week you were campaigning for Buhari, the next week, GEJ became your God.

You have no character, no conviction and you are certainly untrustworthy

You cannot stand the heat of Facebook , you cannot compete in mainstream social media, you are making more enemies than friends.

SMH....

I thought Barcanista told us he is closing down his nairaland account and relocating his headquarters to FB,goes to show Nairaland still the real deal that can't be ignored,
@ post,OP made valid points except his take on security as we all know the terrorists are getting smashed by the Army. I think we should give baba at least a year before we asses him considering he is yet to appoint ministers.
At least we gave Jonathan 6 years and he still disappointed.

Buhari is trying his best to restore this country, but the truth is,He is very stubborn!!! He is not acting like someone who was voted in by the masses,He is always trying to use force and decree ever since may29th! This is not a military dispensation,He 'll fail woefully trying to change this country all by himself. He needs help,if he wants to succeed...he should start seeking for help and stop all those probing,12year is not sufficient to probe tinubu alone let alone the whole sector of this country! My thoughts tho

Boss who on twitter ?

He can only boss Nairaland because of Mediocres who read titles and just hit the like button. That must have made him feel he wrote something special.

Imagine a so called analyst writing

"As a pastor in Tinubu House of Prayer Ministry, Yemi Osinbajo was to use spiritual warfare in alliance with the military experience of renowed War field marshall"

He is just a hungry writer. I guess he pulled out when they were not paying him enough to share with hungry Nairaland Mods.

Now that there is bail out funds for Govs. They must have sent him crumbs as usual because i can tell you for free that he writes nothing in the interest of the Masses.

Really

Try harder next time @OP
I never benefitted anything directly from GEJ's adninistration, even if it is PMB's body odour that is giving me eletricity which I am directly benefiting from then let him continue.

Wait oh! Why did you focus on just 3 aspects

Bias!!!!

Lately, there seems to be an improvement in security. At least our soldiers' morale, that seemed to be very flat during GEJ's tenure, has improved. As for others, you do have a point.

Op, you didn't summon passingshot. Are you afraid?
