Okorocha Has No Influence In APC – Daily Sun by ruggedboy01: 7:34am On Sep 16, 2015 |
The South East zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the exclusion of Ndigbo from President Muhammadu Buhari’s kitchen cabinet as an indication that Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has no influence in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement signed by the publicity secretary/ auditor of the South East zone of the PDP, Uwakwe Regis, the party stated that despite the fact that there are two House of Representatives members from Imo State, the governor could not influence the emergence of any of them as principal officers. He said: “It is on record that Okorocha, while campaigning for the APC, after he dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), promised Ndigbo that he would take them to the mainstream immediately APC wins the election. Unfortunately, he has failed to take them, not even to the periphery of the mainstream, judging by Buhari’s total exclusion of Ndigbo from his kitchen cabinet. “We know that each eastern state is constitutionally entitled to a ministerial nomination, so it is not a favour.” “We want to also ask Okorocha why he could not influence the emergence of either of the House of Representatives members as principal officers, if he thinks he is influential? He could not even push for the emergence of a deputy chief whip; thus, it would be the first time since 1999, that the South East could not produce a principal officer.” Regis said Okorocha must be hallucinating if he thinks that any signpost of APC would be left standing in 2019 in the entire South East, going by the total exclusion of the zone from the present administration. He sympathized with the APC South East zonal publicity secretary, Osita Okechuwku, “as Okorocha has taken over his job and is playing comic politics with it.” http://sunnewsonline.com/new/okorocha-has-no-influence-in-apc-south-east-pdp/

Nigerians sabi flog dead horse sha. Enough of this recurrent shyte that changes nothing. Even if okorocha has so much influence to arm twist the presidency into securing plum appointments for politicians from the south east, what difference will it ever make to improve the scheme of things in that region? What stupendous improvement did the south east and south southern politicians that filled top positions in the GEJ era bring? Other than enrich themselves, is there anything else our politicians are good at? In their respective towns and villages, there exists no decent roads, water and other BASIC structures. Even ex president's village of Otuoke has no portable water. Bottom line, whether Okorocha influences major appointments or not, it makes no difference. The plight of the average man remains the same with the sort of government we have here. |

Any Igbo man who tries to lick the anus of an Hausa man will surly face the same. We're waiting for 2019, we will give them 1% vote or maybe election will not hold in southeast by then. All hail Biafra 2 Likes |

All that matters to the PDP is influence, post and all that leads to corruption. They care nlt about the life of a common man. If Rochas didn't have influence and unemployment was greatly reduce, socio economic activity recieve a boost and mostly corruption is wipe out if the system. who cares. |

If the Owerri-Port Harcourt road and Nnewi-Okigwe road is done, I find the influence irrelevant. How can you have influence when all your brothers are fighting tooth and nail to discredit you or bring you down? What can Okorocha bring to the table? Is it money or population? That is what I've been kicking against when Igbos ganged up against their own because of useless Jonathan. Okorocha lost the VP slot because everyone knew he wouldn't win much votes in the Southeast for APC. His popularity in Southeast starts and ends in Imo State. Even today a lot of resources is being wasted by Igbos to kill Okorocha's popularity in Imo State. At the end of the day, if his political career is killed no other Igbo man will stand the chance of gaining national love and trust for many years to come. |
