Sister, are you sure your ECU's faulty?
What model of Renault do you have, and what year?

I only ask, because 8 out of 10 times, there's nothing wrong with the ECU, there's usually something else at fault.

Is this a German-spec car?

i ship this car to nigerian end of last year
my father had  accident with the car
i think he destroyed the brain box

Benincitys, what exactly's wrong with the car?

An accident would certainly cause front end damage, though the ECU's unlikely to be destroyed too.
Saying that though, Renault are fond of mounting their ECU's on either the left or right hand inner wing (behind the headlamp), so in a hard enough smash, it'll probably be toast.

Is it being replaced because it's crushed, or because after repairs, the car won't start?

Ok sis, got you.

I would make sure it's 100% the ECU at fault, it's common in Nigeria for "technicians" to blame the ECU if they can't trouble shoot a simple fault in 10 minutes.
