The National Emergency Maintenance Agency (NEMA) has confirmed that the number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) has increased from 1.5 million people to 2.1 million people.

In an interview with channels television, the NEMA official said that as at July 2015, there was an increase in population with 600,000 extra people added to the already existing 1.5 million Internally Displaced Persons (IDP).

The 2.1 million Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) emanated from the continuous attacks in the North East zone of Nigeria by the Boko Haram insurgents.

This figure is still on the rise and expected to increase for as long as the Boko Haram terrorists are still active.
