Nsonaso: No, I don't think so. Tecno operates in Nigeria, it pays tax to the Nigerian government, it has a large number of staff, it pays their salary, it also does adverts e.t.c These are things that add to the running cost of the coy. If Samsung were to produce this device as it is, they would probably slap a price tag of between #90k-#100k because they have larger commitments. Check out the recently released HTC Desire 728 with this same chipset, same screen size, HD screen (not full HD o), no fingerprint scanner, 2800mah battery, 13mp back cam and 5mp, and is sold for about #60k in China. By the way, when you add shipping fee and retailer cost to the Doogee, it'll be close to 40k here in Nigeria. Tecno phantom 5 doesn't have the best price when compared to other phones in the same category, but they certainly have a lot of commitments. 2 Likes |

Please point of correction there is no processor like MediaTek TFA9890. Whenever I see people writing that Tecno Phantom 5 came with that, I only but laugh in Chinese. MediaTek has never built any chipset with such model. The purported model number even breaks away from MTK model numbering convention. All MTK chipset model number starts with the prefix Mt, except with their latest and only deca core processor ever produced that is simply named Helio X20. Even Helio X10 has its model number with the Mt prefix as Mt67XX Now the MediaTek TFA9890 that people are mistaken for the Phantom 5 processor is an audio amplifier chip model NXP TFA9890 which I can't tell for now whether the Phantom 5 has it inbuilt for audio enhancement purpose, the Phantom 5 processor is definitely of the Mt67XX processor type. Then for those saying that processor Mt6753 is of the cheap range of MTK processor don't know what they are saying. That Mt6795 model which is that of the Helio X10 is higher and costlier than Mt6753 does not make Mt6753 the cheap type. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Osyxcel:The fact that you're comparing Tecno to Samsung and HTC makes your logic flawed, there's more to being a Flagship that just assembling the best components you can, which guarantee do you have of getting any updates to this phone based on Tecno's track record? non, what is the resale value for this phone? non existence..these are PREMIUM First Tier Brands, associated with Prestige and Quality and therefore attracts premium pricing.. Tecno plays in the value for money segment and they should do well to remember that.. 2 Likes |

donbenie: Do you know what goodwill is? That's what Samsung and the likes enjoy. Nokia enjoyed that in those days and still enjoying it till now though not as strong as before. When the goodwill of Tecno reaches a stage, then the resale value will be high. Like I said earlier, the price is not the cheapest among the phone in its category. |

donbenie:it does if uve actually useed an adreno 330 and know its power Oh and I forgot its also a par to adreno 405 So lets give it alittle praise The fact that mediatek only contracts with small oem doesnt mean they are also substandard There are mtk chips dat are par(or even better) than the latest snapdragon's |
