Amidst the on-going trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, over an alleged 13 count-charge bordering on false asset declaration, the de facto Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said the former Kwara Governor is getting what he deserves.

Tinubu who spoke through the Chairman of Nation Newspaper Editorial Board, Sam Omatseye on Tuesday as an invited guest on a Channels Television Programme explained that the ram (Saraki) has come to the slaughter before adding with some mirth; “we want to know if the meat is rotten inside.’’

The CCT on Friday and Monday again issued a bench warrant against Saraki following his refusal to appear in court to face trial.

Responding to the question that the Saraki charges might be “pure witch hunting” because he could not be the only public official that might have declared false assets, Tinubu said in every democracy, not every sinner would be caught.

“For political pundits, this is an interesting time to be alive. We want to know what the meat is, we want to know whether the ram has meat, the meat has to come to the slaughter slab, and he is running away from the slaughter slab, so how would we know if the meat is rotten inside?
