The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Wednesday, September 23, revealed that the the party’s position on the on-going trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, will still remain a secret that would not be divulged to the public.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed told Business Day in a telephone chat that whatever position the party was going to take on the prosecution of the Senate President would remain deliberately concealed.

Saraki is facing a 13 count charge for false declaration of assets.

He is also answering questions on illegal operation of foreign accounts while being a public officer as a Governor and Senator.

Saraki is accused of according to the charge, violating sections of the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended.

On Tuesday September 22, Saraki told the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Umar that he was aware he was being targeted simply because he was Senate President before adding Section 3(d) of the Code of Conduct Act had already vindicated him.

While responding, Mohammed insisted “Whatever is going to be our position (on Saraki’s trial) will not be made public.”
