Tonight’s a big night. On Sept. 27, a lunar eclipse and a supermoon will coincide for a spectacular scene in the sky, also known as a blood moon. Here’s everything you need to know before it all goes down!
The moon is going to look a whole lot different tonight, Sept. 27. That’s because of the total supermoon lunar eclipse, also known as a blood moon. It’s going to be a sight to see.
sweetnoisenaija.com has a list of 5 facts to know before the big event.
1. When is the lunar eclipse?
The supermoon will be visible at 8:11 p.m. ET. The total eclipse will start at 10: 11 p.m. ET and peak at 10:47 p.m. ET, according to NASA. You will be able to see it if you live in North and South America, Europe, Africa and parts of western Asia and eastern Pacific. Of course, be aware that the weather where you’re living will effect how well you can see it!
2. How can you watch the supermoon lunar eclipse?
NASA will be live-streaming the supermoon lunar eclipse. Thanks, NASA!
3. How long will it last?
The supermoon lunar eclipse will last 1 hour and 11 minutes.
4. What will it look like?
In a lunar eclipse, the moon looks less and less bright because sunlight is blocked by Earth’s shadow. When the eclipse reaches “totality,” the moon will look reddish or dark brown. That’s why it’s nicknamed “blood moon.”
5. When’s the next time you can see it?
You’ll be a lot older the next time this happens. The next supermoon lunar eclipse won’t happen until 2033. Wow! It’s going to be fascinating to watch. The supermoon lunar eclipse is something that has to be seen to be believed. Don’t

miss it
