READ THIS The Lagos State University (LASU) authority has suspended 11 students who were former executive members of the Students Society of History and International Studies (SSOHIS) indefinitely. Information acquired by TelIcollege revealed that the students organised the ill-fated Association Award Night party which held on Feb. 11, where the death of a female student Omolara Gbadeyan by name in 200 level department of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, Faculty of Management Sciences. The affected students are henceforth not allowed to participate in any student-related activity,and they were also expected to face the student’s disciplinary committee immediately. The University had earlier said that the organisers of the party, which claimed the life of the student, did not inform the authority of the incident. It noted that the organisers sought no approval for it, which was contrary to the rules and regulations of the institution.After which the university became aware and swung into action.http://www.tellcollege.com/2016/02/how-lasu-suspend-11-students-over-death.html

You've got same issues as my close female friend who actually applied for International relations and diplomacy in Uniben.Her dad wants her to study law in any school at the northern part of this country. Daddy's Saga.

But which do you want? The schools and the courses?

BTW, Which course have you applied for already?

Mimido2, your issue sounds like a joke to me m(sorry to say) why would anyone pick Ekpoma over Ugbowo?

Fees are way cheaper down at uniben, standard (to an extent) teaching facilities. Well recognized globally (top 5 in NUC's 2015 list of the best).

It's either he has "long leg" in Ekpoma or he has had bad experiences with uniben. Either way, if you really want to go to Uniben you should go for it.

Last session's cut off mark was around 71 aggregate.

Aggregate is obtained as follows;

Jamb_score/8 + PUTME/2

I.e;

400/8 + 100/2 = 100aggr

So studying law "for your dad" is the best route?

My dad was hell bent on me studying medicine, I filled my jamb form for Engineering. Almost 4 years in, I thank God for being stubborn baq then.

If you want something and YOU'RE SURE OF YOURSELF, then I see no reason why you should conform to pressure from above. It's your life path we're talking about here.

So after studying law "for your dad", what next? Go back to Uniben to study ISD "for yourself" or wait........ "practice law for your dad". undecided

I don't know your dad, so I cannot entirely.......... well, have a say.

Just know that what you decide to do now will shape your life for the next 10years

Peace. smiley

I feel for you. Have you tried contacting your family members: your uncles, aunts and so on, explaining to them and begging them to help you talk to your dad to see reasons with you?

You will end up struggling and struggling if you go for a course you don't want. Beg your family members to help tell your dad this.

your sisters won't be able to convince him. You need elders to talk to him.
