Who Succeeds Oshiomhole In Edo? by igbinigiejeff(m): 5:26pm On Oct 01, 2015
Ahead of next year?s governorship election in Edo State, aspirants have started to mobilize supporters and set up structures for the realization of their dreams, and this contest on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is swelling by the day. Though the APC leadership has put a caveat on building political structures by the aspirants, ahead of primaries, yet aspirants campaign tempo builds tenaciously in the air as the party's D-Day fast approaches.
Who will succeed Governor Adams Oshiomhole in November, next year when his tenure expires? This is a one million dollar question Edo residents are battling to answer because of the unprecedented developmental strides of the governor. Many people have indicated interest in the race, but the big question is, who will the people trust with their votes?
The expectation is for A MAN! One who has the temperament and spirit of EXCELLENCE, A MAN who will not only build on the existing structures of the present administration but also drive the development of EDO state to a higher level in terms of, Industrialization and Job Creation for the teeming unemployed citizens of our great state. A MAN to Restore Security and Order in our society. A MAN who has the methodological and administrative finesse in formulating economic policies to make Edo the preferred hub for both local and international Investments, to fully exploit the massive natural resources and minerals the state has been enriched with by the Great ALMIGHTY. A MAN who is a true son of EDO and has proved his worth NATIONALLY and INTERNATIONALLY and as such can and will restore our rich cultural heritage back to international spotlight, by developing our cultural tourism, so that the average Edo Sons and Daughters can be once again proud amongst the committee of nations. A MAN who firmly believes in the value of standard education and is committed to the development of the YOUTHS. A MAN who will make life meaningful for Edo people. A MAN of pedigree, with proven record of distinguished service to society and sufficient understanding of the intricacies of governance.
The ideal candidate that stands out amongst the lot who has indicated interest in Edo State No.1 job, in view of all the parameters listed for good governance is none other than our very own Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi. Without prejudice Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi has lived his life fulfilling excellence in service, contributing to national growth and the nation has enjoyed the dividends of his labors, EDO included. As GED of NNPC, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi drew the road map for sustainable GAS-to-POWER energy plan that was responsible for the privatization of the energy sector, the increased gas output to power newly built and existing gas plants, He saw to the restoring and maintenance of corporate order and due process *in the duration every subsidiary he headed, under his leadership NPDC improved its production capacity in an unprecedented scale. As *Minister of State for Works, (an interregnum position he held), he was able to influence major development projects to the State, the Ofosu-Benin Highway that spans from Ofosu in Ondo State to Dawson Road, the heart of Benin City is one of such. Numerous youths are beneficiaries of his Humanitarian Foundation that sponsors an Educational Scholarship Scheme for students with distinguished results but without financial means. As a true son of Edo who seeks the betterment of Edo people in general, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi was highly instrumental in galvanizing massive support amongst top political elites, journalists, pressure groups and traditional rulers for President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential election, this lone act has placed Edo in good light with the central government. One can only imagine the Presidential goodwill and potential developments Edo State stands to benefit from this lone act.
As it is said, those who initiate change stand in a better position to manage the change that comes inevitably. So there is the need now for all progressive minds to collaborate, even for them also who believe the Future is Now, to put aside any personal or sentimental bigoted tendencies and move support for the credible candidate Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi THE MAN that believes in good governance and has exemplified it in his over 3 decade of unsullied merritous service to society and humanity. This is the demand now, so as not to destroy the progress made so far by the Oshiomhole administration.? All our amiable governor will do now is to ensure that who succeeds him is THIS MAN. so to ensure the continuation of already achieved growth and not drown his own legacy in an abysmal flood of failure, if this is done we will start comparing Edo with Lagos without an aorta of doubt in the next regime. Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi is THE MAN whom the cap fits come APC primaries and come 2016. Edo people do not let such opportunity pass you by. EDO 2016 - #Yes To Better Edo !!!
